Not sure why some people gave this place a 1-star, but it’s an older Korean lady running the place with two other workers in the back. People should give her a break. You’re not grading some Michelin star restaurant lol.
Anyhow, this place has the best spicy tuna kimbap I’ve ever tried. It’s so fresh and so good, has a great crunch to it and the perfect rice to ingredient ratio. I’ve tried kimbap all over in jersey, manhattan and queens but I always find myself coming back to this place. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area! Oh yea, she often times sells out of certain kimbaps (I think with the help she has more inventory now) but don’t get pissed at this poor lady...

To me, great gimbap is like great potato chips in that each piece just disappears without any conscious friction, until it's too late. The proportion of rice to ingredients, the sesame oil saturation of the gim (nori in Japanese), the tenderness/crispness balance of the vegetables, and the interplay of umami, saltiness, acidity and sweetness are delightful. Also, subpar (dry) gimbap needs assistance from soups or beverages to go down, but not these. These are brilliant!
