I canāt recommend this hidden gem enough! I got the oxtail, my husband got the jerk chicken, a couple piping hot beef patties, and some crispy crunchy bammy. There wasnāt a grain of rice left on our plates when we were done - it was absolutely authentic and finger licking delicious. I couldnāt even wait to take a photo of the food, had to dig in as soon as the plate hit the table! Iāve been struggling with the lack of authentic ethnic food culture in the area and this meal almost brought tears to my eyes. The owner, Lina, said sheās working on updating the decor and creating a bigger dining area in the back for larger parties. She was so sweet and welcoming - Iāll definitely be back and will be recommending Taste of the Tropics to...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this new place! Food is served fresh and hot and nicely done with an island twist! So far Iāve had oxtails with rice and peas, sweat plantains, with cabbage and that tasted really good with a good proportion leaving me wishing I have ordered two meals like that!
Next I ordered white rice, sweet plantain with curry goat! And yes that too was delicious. Even the drinks were exceptionally cold and a delight to wash down the wonderful food.
Thank you for serving the city...
