EDIT II: Went in again to the bar playing 2000’s rap and r&b. Great vibe. Still, I think the bar could develop a more [cult]ivated following if they made a statement with the music tastes. There is so much new music, this is the perfect bar to accentuate up and coming artists, and I believe people would really appreciate hearing fresh music in the wild. Also, the bartender was the dopest, 100%. I asked for a blonde, he brought me a Pilsner. My date enjoyed the recommended IPA.
EDIT I: I'm more interested in your bar playing the right type of music for the venue than whatever pictures you have inside of your dimly lit intimate space. That being said, I will come back. Little bar is my style.
Drinks poured well. The chef truly knows how to prepare bomb carne asads fries!
The service was great, very positive, the frequency was overbearing especially for the time of evening. We were there around 8pm-close, and left before closing time.
Question - why is a small upscale bar like his playing club music rather than lounge music?
I feel as though intimate conversations should be promoted here, with say a “random” change in musical style for one song if there’s a full room and drink orders slow down. That would potentially stir the guests into moving along (making room for new guests) or ordering.
Jazzy instrumental with modern twists would work in this case, or a sultry male singer with a guitar, Latino beats.
Examples of some Latino music with lyrics (the songs should be carefully chosen with conversation provoking pieces): -Joaquin Sabina -Peso Pluma -Los Destellos -La Yegros
Jazz frequencies can include: -death by peanuts -Amina -Odelly -The Marias -Elijah Blond
Mind you, many of these are not jazz, but sexy tunes can create a complex playlist that not only gets people talking but also gets people coming back due to the interesting music profile.
The level of sound worked out because it kept intimate conversations...
Read moreI went here a couple weeks back with a buddy of mine to catch up, I'm a local and wanted to try new experiences when it comes to bars, since I don't go out much. When my friend and I came to the bar, we sat ourselves, ordered 2 drinks, some food and started talking. No complaints. Then one of the wait staff came over to check on us, all is good, we said we were fine, continued talking to my friend. A little while later she came by again, everything is fine, asked for some waters, then me and my friend continued talking. A little while longer she came by again, ok the first 2 times is fine, if I needed anything else and I would've gotten her attention, I know she was trying to be attentive and take away plates or empty cups, but we were taking our time to eat our food, so the plates were left alone, again we were talking so we were taking our time. I'm sure that's what bars are for.....to socialize, talk, mingle. Anyways, my friend and I were only there for 30 minutes, another 30 minutes go by, now it's a male server checking on us, 1st time, all is good, just chatting up he took our empty plates, cool, thank you. 2nd time, we don't need anything we are just enjoying ourselves. 3rd, ok now this is annoying, a total of 7 times in 1hr and 30 minutes. I just wanted to order a drink and some food with my friend, I know the wait staff wanted to check on us, but after 7 times my buddy and I felt rushed, I'm not sure if the other ppl around us experienced the same thing, but they were talking with their friends without being bothered much. I don't need a lot of attention, at a bar you would get the bartenders attention if you wanted something, my experience wasn't great here. I heard this place was great from others, there wasn't too much ppl here on the day that we went, so they were not incredibly busy. Just wanted some time to talk with my friend, which I'll do at another bar if we want...
Read moreWe really like this place! I had the cauliflower tacos, and they were delicious. The cauliflower is coated in a tempura batter and cooked until it is tender with a light crunchy coating. My husband enjoyed the wedge salad. We shared the beignets for dessert. They were hot, nicely fried without being greasy, and cane with a strawberry sauce that complimented them so well. The servers were so friendly and helpful. For instance, I asked whether they recommended corn or flour tortillas for the tacos, and the server suggested I get one of each. The cocktails are really nicely balanced and strong. This is a cool and cozy place with really reasonable prices. The cauliflower tacos cost $12 and were plenty for a meal. We look forward yo coming back. There are a lot of mediocre overpriced restaurants in Palm Desert, but Little Bar has great food and drinks at unusually inexpensive prices. There is a happy hour before 6 pm, and cocktails are reduced by $4 at this time. They also have $3...
