I’ve been to the Mojave more than a dozen times over the last 20 years but this is first time since remodel. The remodel is definitely an upgrade aesthetically but sadly it feels like a lot of the charm is gone. It’s very sterile and that feels less relaxing somehow. The trees are gone and there are only four umbrellas at the pool. We were there on a hot weekend (107) and the lack of shade felt oppressive. They are also still working out some service kinks. The website says there are welcome drinks. There are not - at least not yet. When I ask about the drinks I was told they don’t have a license yet but maybe they could do a gift certificate for drinks on El Paseo (which would have been fine) but would need to ask owner. The gift card never materialized and was not mentioned again. I was there with two friends - we booked a superior queen with max occupancy of four. The room had two wine glasses, two sets of towels and when breakfast arrived it was for two. I asked if we could get an extra muffin but was told breakfast is only for two in every room. Something that is also not outlined on their website. The breakfast pastries were fine but yogurt parfait was inedible - warm and the yogurt was not Greek, maybe non dairy? It was tasteless. Also had piece of fruit and juice. When I asked for an extra wine glass was told they only had two for each room. There are other quirks - no door for toilet (not ideal when sharing room with friends) and rooms were so hot blinds had to remain closed all day. The blind to cover the glass on front door reaches the floor makes it hard to open the door amd the blind is already not working great. A new nespresso machine was nice perk but no milk/cream available or even a cheap little packet with creamer/sugar. Cord also doesn’t reach outlet when there machine is located in the room so had to be moved to be plugged in. No kettle or tea. I know a lot of this is picky but the general vibe is looks good but doesn’t yet work so well. Prior to the remodel, the inconveniences were easy to overlook because rooms were less than $200. We paid $439 on a weekend when the hotel was largely empty. At that price (plus a new $34 resort fee) things are harder to overlook. Not sure if we will be back which is sad because we had a lot of good...
Read moreLet me elaborate on the 1 star. This place was wonderful before it got remodeled. It was quiet, everyone who stayed here were long time customers. I recently became one a few years back and this was our little hidden gem. Before the remodel the rooms were just right. Although, I was able to afford staying at other places like La Quinta, etc.. this place just gave us the kind of environment we were looking for. My little girl always had the pool to herself. All the guest that stayed were long time customers that would drive from all over CA. It was just one of those places that made you feel at home, welcomed and comfortable. The rooms were a bit dated just like everything else but that’s what gave it charm. Feeling like you were stepping back in time. The location was ideal. Restaurants near by I mean you have it all right there. Now I just heard and read it for myself that it’s adult only. What kind of #uckery is that. This was the first place my little girl learned to swim. This is her first memory of visiting Palm Desert. The staff got to know us as we tried to frequent as much as we could during summer. They were always welcoming. I was afraid this was gonna happen. They lost a good loyal customer with me. #ucking investors that are not even from the area bought this place or something like that. Needless to say, this place is going to be just another #ucking adult only in Palm Desert. This whole #ucking area is turning into adults only. The family values, tradition are out the door. They want to only tailor to one specific community. Shame on you guys, you sold your morality and...
Read moreAfter extensive research to find the perfect hotel for a friend and me (both in our 40s), we decided on Mojave Resort—and wow, did we make the right choice! We debated between Palm Springs and Palm Desert, but ultimately, Mojave stood out thanks to its stellar reviews, prime location near El Paseo Drive (a paradise for shopping and dining), and the incredible perks: adults-only, welcome drinks, evening champagne at the fire tables, and breakfast delivered daily—all included at a reasonable rate. A huge bonus? They provide bikes, and we absolutely love biking!
From the moment we arrived, the experience was beyond what we imagined. The resort is beautifully renovated, with stylish decor. But what truly made our stay unforgettable was the customer service. Every staff member went above and beyond, making us feel like VIP guests. From the personalized tour to the daily text updates about happenings at the hotel, their attention to detail was unmatched.
And let’s talk about the beds—hands down, the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve ever slept in. For the first time, I didn’t miss my Tempur-Pedic at home, which says a lot!
While Palm Desert’s nightlife isn’t as exciting as Palm Springs, we still found plenty of chic, trendy spots to enjoy cocktails after hours. The vibe was perfect—relaxed, upscale, and sophisticated.
Mojave Resort is a hidden gem, and I 100% will be returning. If you’re looking for a stylish, relaxing, and well-located getaway with top-notch service, this...
