Faceless Samurai — Restaurant in Palm Harbor

Last night our family of 5 ordered delivery through a second party from Faceless Samurai. We have dinned here in person and very much so enjoyed our past experiences and food. However, last night was the stark opposite. First, there is a $100 limit on what you can order online. While reasonable to keep carrying size to a manageable level - for a family of 5 its causes difficulty ordering enough food. Not the biggest issue, we were all fed in the end. However the quality of food was poor compared to past experiences here. The miso soup had either not been given enough dashi or was purposefully watered down. It was practically hot water with seaweed an tofu. The Green Curry, usually a huge dish and two meals for any person was smaller than expected (but tasty and spicy). Swim/blood lines were left in the salmon of one roll. One roll had cucumber that was not in the description causing an dietary issue for the person wanting to eat it. I am giving the average stars based on multiple experiences, but what happened last night means this family will not be back anytime soon and will visit one of the many other available - and consistent in quality - sushi and Asian restaurants...

I didn’t even know this place existed even though I live right down the street. I’m kicking myself for not finding Faceless Samurai earlier.

I went in for a quick lunch and was greeted by the owner Duke (not sure if that’s how you spell his name). There is nothing I appreciate more than warm hospitality and that’s exactly what I got from the second I walked in.

I ordered my favorite sushi, Salmon Skin Rolls. I can tell you that I haven’t had anything that I would even consider decent in any other sushi restaurant in the USA, including Nobu.

This was without hesitation the absolute best salmon skin roll I have had.

The spicy tuna roll I had was also delicious. This isn’t your regular sushi restaurant. It’s incredible. The prices are extremely decent and you’ll love he atmosphere. Don’t let the shopping plaza exterior deceive you. It’s beautiful inside.

I can’t wait to go back for more. That’s how you know it’s a great place, I’m already planning the next visit before...

Extremely poor service. The server didn't write anything down and forgot my order. She did not apologize or acknowledge the error at all- though we half expected to have my order removed from the check seeing as it wasn't put in until the rest of the table was served and didn't come until they were finished eating. It would have been better if she had at least apologized, but we got nothing out of her but a "here you go" as she put my plate in front of me and took the empty plates of the people dining with me back to the kitchen. The sushi was good and the sushi chef was friendly, but the service was just awful and we will not be back. She completely forgot my order because she did not write anything down and she did the same to the table next to us- we heard her confirming their orders again long after they had ordered originally.
