2nd time visiting the establishment. Made a reservation for what I thought was 4:45 PM on a Sunday evening. However, when I arrived at the restaurant, I was greeted by young lady who said nothing other than let me get the manager, Brian Murphy. As it turns out, my reservation was either changed, or an error on my part as it was listed at 4:15 in their system. This particular manager, when I asked to have a booth, for my family spoke to me in rude and condescending manner with racial overtones and letting me know that I was delayed by half hour, according to the reservation. His tone and approach in communication was utterly disrespectful on all levels as if I had never been to a mid grade restaurant in a generic strip mall in a generic town. I wanted to tell him right there then that I am highly educated with a doctorate level education from a highly respectful university and quite wealthy as if he thought differently from the basis of the color of my skin. I’ve been to many of fine establishments all around the nation and the world which I might add are 100 times better than this run of the mill strip mall restaurant who seem to serving a homogeneous population of older whites. He then offers me a “high table” otherwise I would have to wait additional hour and a half. This so called “high table” was right next to the kitchen where all the waiters are preparing the food to be taken to actual tables as they are coming and going for the entire time. Unfortunately due to time constraints as we had other plans after dinner, I accepted the “high table” otherwise I would’ve just said what was needed to be said and walked right out. I understand that your clientele is all mostly one type however, this managers despicable behavior made me feel like I was back in 60s segregated America. So I will advise all “ethnic” patrons to tread carefully if you are planning to visit this particular location as I have made it very clear to the owners of the establishment of what transpired on the evening of October 13, 2023 when I experienced this despicable behavior from Manager. Sad really for all those who are employed as I would hope a lot of them do not...
Read moreI was so looking forward to trying this place and trying their mwnu as i love seafood. Unfortunately, me and my husband and I did not have a great experience today. We just left the restaurant as we felt our presence and money were not wanted. We were asked if we had a reservation when we entered. And we stated we did, but it's not for another hour. We made one literally on the way end just in case. They hostess stated she didn't see and that since we did not have a current reservation, we had to take a table. We were seated at the table right behind the hostess stand. No problem. As we sat within about 5 minutes of us sitting, literally 4 booths got cleared because people were leaving. As we sat we also saw SEVERAL couples, three specifically within that time frame that came in without reservations (and we knew this because we sat right behind the hostess stand and could hear the conversations) three Caucasian couples that came in and did NOT have reservations got seated at the booths that were cleared off. All around us. As African Americans, we felt disregarded and overlooked. Then we did talk to the supervisor, and she was not helpful she stated that booths were reserved. When we clearly knew otherwise. I never leave reviews, but this is unacceptable. When it's clear that others around you get the basic respect and considerations that you don't get and the difference is in color, that's something worth speaking on and against. And reservation or not if that is your policy, "no reservation, no booth" even if they are free. Then, everyone should be held to that same policy. I'm sad that this is still an issue. And especially as a Veteran ( me and my husband both are) I am extremely saddened by this. I'm disappointed because I wanted to try more of the menu. I enjoyed the one drink I had, and the server was pleasant. But I will not spend my hard money where I...
Read moreI will start off by saying that I really wanted to like this place because I’ve heard good things about it but I did not have a good experience. We ordered the crabmeat stuffed artichokes as an appetizer. It was not made with fresh crabmeat. It was either canned or imitation krab. There was no flavor or appealing texture to the dish. Next my wife orders lobster bisque, the waiter brings out mushroom bisque. Not to cause a stir she decides to keep it. It was also bland and had a slimy texture. We also got the beard service and I’ll tell you the herbed butter was the best tasting item of the night. I also ordered the wedge salad and it was ok at best. Then our entrees came, my wife ordered the panko hogfish. The fish was overcooked and dry with no seasoning. I got the yellowtail snapper with crabmeat and lobster butter. The fish also had no flavor, the crabmeat was definitely canned crabmeat and I did not see a single piece of lobster on the plate nor did I taste any lobster. We both got a side of the cherry pepper cream cheese mashed potatoes because they sounded delicious. Well it was not. Again it was very bland with no depth of flavor and I’m pretty convinced it was made from instant or powdered potatoes. We gave it one final shot with dessert and I wish we would have not. We tried the bread pudding, key lime pie, crème brûlée and salted caramel gelato. All were not good and the bread pudding was borderline disgusting. This was such a disappointment because as I stated I really wanted to like the place. And at the price point they charge for food, I was...
