Update 08/30/25 - I am changing my review to 5 stars. We visited again, and if possible, the brisket was even better than last time. The depth of flavor was incredible and SO tender it almost melted in your mouth. The pulled pork was better this time, without the weird aftertaste. We tried the jalapeno corn bread, and it was also really good, quite sweet but not too much heat. An interesting flavor combo. We also tried the sausage and they were excellent, with great "pop" in your mouth and just a little bit of heat.
I kind of wonder why they aren't open all week? It seems like they have found a winning formula, and could make a LOT more money open 6 or 7 days a week. Maybe they don't want to have to hire and manage a bunch of staff, which I get.
12/24 - I wish Google would allow 10th's in their stars, but they don't and I can't give 5 stars, implying it was perfect. This is not your traditional BBQ joint as they are open only 3 days a week, and obviously make enough BBQ for the 3 days. When they're out on Sunday, they're out. There's also no table side service. You order at the counter which is at the front door, and they bring your meals out to you.
We were given a small sampling of delicious burnt ends for free before our meal came out - bonus! Service was super fast. It was barely 5 minutes from order to delivery. We split the sliced brisket and pulled pork. The brisket was some of the best we've ever had. It was quite fatty, but "fat equals flavor" as they say, and this had tons of flavor. The smoke layer is heavy, and there is no lack of flavoring through the meat. There's also a heavy dose of pepper, so be prepared for a whack in the tastebuds! The texture was perfect - pull apart tender.
The pulled pork was pretty good, but the heavy seasoning was not as successful. The texture was also really good, but there was an odd aftertaste that I can't really identify. We took some of this home and it re-heated pretty well. We also tried the slaw which was not great. Maybe it was just overpowered by the meat, but it lacked flavor. One of my guests had the brisket philly cheesesteak and he gave it 2 big thumbs up. Judging by how fast it disappeared, he loved it!
We missed the usual sides from other BBQ places - regular fries, sweet potato fries, okra, onion rings, potato salad, etc. But I suspect this is a very small operation sticking to what they do best. That's smart.
The facility looks like it was originally a REALLY old house with tons of charm, low ceilings, small windows and very old oak floors. Value - at $70 including tax and tip for 3 with a beer and 2 sodas, it's about average. We live close by so will definitely be back. I hope these guys continue to do well and survive in little...
Β Β Β Read moreSO GOOD! Try the shaved brisket when you can before they are out, but if you don't get it, the sliced is JUST phenomenal! So good! My husband had the pulled pork sandwich and "accidentally" ate the whole thing before I even came to the table. π they have a wonderful corn elote... Theirs is an off the cobb roasted corn with lime, cilantro, and what looks like cotija maybe?.. so good! Worth taking my dairy allergy pills for it! π€―
Currently they offer... (Soft opening) β’ brisket β’ pulled pork sandwiches β’ loose corn elote β’ mashed potatoes β’ coleslaw β’ beans
I'd add pictures... But again... Everything got eaten pretty fast... π€¦πΌββοΈπ

Allergy friendly nachos, Texas barbecue style! I took this home and did it myself. I hope It gets put on the menu, hint hint, nudge nudge Maria! π I minced up my red onion and pickles, and sprinkled them over my BBQ drizzled brisket and potato chip nachos! ππ€―ππ₯°πππ
UPDATE OK so I can't not mention this... I'm from Texas and I LOVE my flavors and spices and sauces... But this brisket... S#!Ο is it good! Half way through my meal I stopped dipping my bites into BBQ sauce. It is SO tender and full of flavor, I just couldn't offend the meat anymore by having sauce on each bite! I haven't had it like that since I lived in Texas....
Β Β Β Read moreThe brisket here is very good, though a little over priced. I came in right when they opened and they said they were already out of elote and sausage... Which were some of the things I was looking forward to trying. The green Chile cornbread ate more like a cake. That and the bbq sauce were a little too sweet for me.
They have a small bar with a small selection of drinks.
I would have given this place a higher rating if it wasn't for the 2 small dogs that were inside (isn't that a health code violation?) and they would not stop whining, begging and pacing the entire time they were there (obviously not service dogs). Completely ruined the dining experience. The dog owners and staff never tried to stop the bad...
