Wow! I was so surprised at this place. I think the previous restaurant was kinda dingy, so I never had any interest. When my boyfriend mentioned that a new place had taken over, I initially didn't believe him because it didn't look too different and the name "Yummy Asian Cuisine" didn't impress.
However - the interior is stunning and very clean! If you saw pictures of the inside, you would never believe it was in this little strip mall with Rite Aid and Subway. A small bar area, sushi bar area, booths and half booth/tables gave us plenty of seating options.
The menu is also impressive, with options ranging from classic American style Asian food, sushi and Thai dishes. I think you can also order hibachi style dishes and cook your meal on a hot stone. We kept it simple and ordered a scorpian bowl, miso soup, pad Thai and a specialty spicy tuna roll. The miso soup was straightforward. The pad Thai was super flavorful and a bit on the spicy side (which I loved). The chicken in it was very tender and moist, unlike chicken you would get in most pad Thai. I do wish it had a little more sauce, but I would definitely order it again. The roll we got was also tasty! I think it had tuna, avocado and cucumber in it, and crunchy spicy tuna on top. The plating was visually appealing and the roll hit the spot. The crunchies on top got a little less crunchy, but still was good. The scorpian bowl was alright - tasted a little sweet for my liking. I think the pineapple juice was a little heavy handed.
Our waitress was sweet and attentive. Maybe a little too attentive, but I am sure that will mellow out a bit as time goes on and they get busier.
All in all, I will definitely be back. Would be a good spot for a local date night. Looking forward to trying more...
Read moreIf i could give negative stars I would. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. My boyfriend and I went to try some new sushi and we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately, things went down hill right when our waitress came over and quickly rushed us to order, even though we were the only people in there.
We each ordered two rolls and a miso soup and seaweed salad. I order the yellowtail scallion roll and the salmon avocado roll. The waitress brought out our food and handed me a salmon mango roll. I proceeded to tell her that I ordered salmon avocado, in a very nice manner. She then argued with me repeatedly saying that I said “salamon mango” (mind you I NEVER have and NEVER would order mango in sushi). She then finally said “whatever I’ll change it” and took both rolls very rudely. I was then left with nothing to eat and had to wait an addition 15 minutes for the other roll to be made (my boyfriend waited to eat his also).
When the waitress brought out the new roll she also brought her note pad, showing it to us and arguing with me again saying that I ordered the salmon mango roll. Both my boyfriend and I told her multiple times that I ordered the salmon avocado and I asked her why she was arguing with me about it. She dropped the plate on the table and said “whatever I changed it for you” and stormed off.
She was extremely rude the rest of the time.
Because of our awful experienced there, we will definitely not be returning. I have never been treated in such a rude manner by any restaurants before. They need to manage their staff in a better way and not allow customers to leave...
Read moreThey messed up our order and didn't advertise the menu items correctly on their website.
I ordered a short while ago and received a confirmation of my order. When they called to confirm my order, I truly believe they listed it accurately. But when it was picked up, it was short two items.
I called in to complain and was advised that they gave me what we confirmed over the phone and the items we received are what the website shows we ordered on their end. The problem is, that I can still see my order online under my account and it clearly has the two items they forgot.
Thankfully they didn't charge me for what they missed.
Additionally, they describe the "Super White Tuna" as "Seared pepper white tuna" when it is in fact just plain, white sushi. There was no sear or pepper. The person on the phone advised me that this is the only way the offer it.
The tuna I ate tasted good, my coworkers that got to eat liked their food, but either way - they didn't advertise accurately and they have a major problem with online ordering if it doesn't tell them to give what you request. I've never dealt with this at Wen Ming, China House or New China... so I recommend you try them. I am positive that any one of those three places would have offered to supply the items that weren't accurately ordered and would have delivered them to make up for it. Yummy Asian Cuisine did neither of those things. There was no good will attempt to correct the issue, just a quick brush off apology and a word that they would tell someone about the website...
