My fiance and I visited Angels in Palmer for breakfast over the weekend, having enjoyed great meals there twice since moving here in January. As foodies who dine out often, we were excited to return to a spot we thought was a gem. Unfortunately, this visit was a major disappointment.
We ordered three dishes: a honey hot apple bacon grilled cheese, eggs Benedict, and a BLT with eggs. The grilled cheese was a bizarre letdown—expecting apple-flavored bacon, we found actual apple slices mixed in, which didn’t work at all. It was dry, with shredded cheese sprinkled on the bread, making it one of the worst grilled cheeses I’ve ever had. The BLT was equally bland, lacking flavor, salt, pepper, or butter—just plain and dry. We took one bite of each and couldn’t continue. The eggs Benedict, thankfully, was solid, and we finished it.
The service added to our frustration. It took 47 minutes for our food to arrive, despite the restaurant being busy but not packed. When we left most of our food untouched, the waitress noticed and checked with the manager (also the cook). She returned, apologized, and offered something else, but the manager refused to comp even one uneaten meal. This was shocking—most restaurants would accommodate customers and feel awful that they didn't touch 2 out of 3 of their meals. The manager avoided eye contact and ignored the barely touched plates pushed to the counter’s edge, which felt dismissive.
The waitress tried her best, but the kitchen’s lack of care was clear. It’s a shame because this place is always busy and might feel they can afford to lose customers. Charging us for three meals, two of which we barely touched, ensures we won’t return. We’d hoped our previous great visits weren’t a fluke, but this experience was a dealbreaker.
After dropping $68 for this experience we left hungry and went to Krazy Jake's which is always consistent with...

Food was good and was delivered hot, toast looks like toast but was very soft, imagine like damp bread. Coffee was very good, refills hard to get. After ordering my breakfast, it took 35 minutes for it to arrive, person next to me said he has been there for over a half hour too . Food arrived hot and was good except toast. When I was done eating I pushed my plate and utensils forward and waited for a warm up in my coffee, I waited 15 minutes trying to catch some one attention. Finally I spoke up, several times and asked for coffee and my bill, the waitress barked back saying they have a new computer and they are working on it? Finally I get the bill but no warm up by now needed a refill, nothing but my change, it’s now been over an hour before I could pay and leave. 3 stars because owner seemed polite, food was good except the so called toast, coffee was good, hard to imagine returning there because it’s way, way to slow, and I don’t return anyplace where someone barks at me when asking politely...
Read moreTo be honest, the star scale should be higher for this hidden gem of a restaurant! The service that we received this morning was outstanding! We dine out quite a bit, and this by far was the BEST customer service we have ever received! I deal with multiple allergies and there are challenges I face when dining out, but this team, and I mean from the wait staff to the kitchen staff to their owner were bound and determined to make me a meal to enjoy! Gluten, dairy and nut free French toast that tasted like a vanilla bean pastry!! In a world where people don't take the time to be nice, and you know what I mean - most people couldn't be bothered, even in a customer service roll, but this, and I'm going to refer to them as a family (even though they may not be) were so very sweet, from start to finish, even the hostess with the mostess on our way out gave me a list of restaurants she knows are allergy conscious!! Looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot? Look no further!! You found it!! Again, thank you from the bottom of...
