Lisa's Cafe — Restaurant in Palmyra

Normally food and service is excellent. Today I went with some friends who are out of town and wanted to go somewhere local. First off our waitress was rude. There were only three of us and she brought two menus. My friend and I had to share which isn't a bad thing but 3 is not a large amount of menus to use. Then when she did get back to us she brought one water for the whole table. When we asked for our own water she seemed annoyed that she would have to bring water back to the table. She brought complementary cinnamon sticks which were awesome as usual. She slammed them down on the table enough so that she's scared my one friend with the noise. My one friend got a sandwich and the lettuce was dirty. I swiped my finger across the lettuce and came back full of dirt. I wanted some ketchup and was looking around for our waitress to ask for some and found her in the back texting so I thought I'd wait till she was done but after 5 minutes I asked somebody else for ketchup and they brought it to our table. When she did get around to us and refilled are water she splashed it all over our food and on my clothes. Today was not a good example of how good the restaurant usually is. They weren't that busy so it's not like they were rushing around. We all have bad days but it seemed like our waitress really didn't want to be...

So on the recommendation of someone at Country Lane Furniture Store I stopped at Lisa's Cafe for lunch with my mom. From the outside it looks like a simple little diner, the inside is fairly the same but very inviting almost feels like home. The wait staff are exceptional, making you feel right at home, and fulfilling your orders perfectly.

The food... The food is EXCEPTIONAL! I had the chicken parm sandwich on the homemade roll. That roll, freshly baked would be fine with a little butter and a rustic cheddar. The roll takes the chicken parm to another level. Soft buttery roll, crisp chicken, with the perfect sauce and melted cheese. The fries that came with the sandwich I just couldn't get enough of them, delicious. My mother had the grilled salmon sandwich and this is the first time in a very long time I have seen her truly enjoy a sandwich like that. The salmon was moist yet flaky, with just the right dressing and complemented well by the sweet potato fries she had.

Had to save room for dessert and I'd advise you do the same, especially if they have the Cannoli Cakr for dessert. Layers of shortcake and sweet ricotta with lots of chocolate chips and a tiny cannoli on top.

The service, the food, the environment all definitely worth...

What a perfect restaurant to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday with my mom and dad and my family! The service was perfect, the food was absolutely delicious, including the chef salad I ate. Very fresh salad. Everything we all got was absolutely delicious. And our server, Lexi/Lexie, did not miss a beat. Well done! She was very friendly, professional, and on the ball. We just had a wonderful time there last night so thank you to the chefs and everybody there! Happy new year to you all!

UPDATE 2/17/24— Our server, Stephanie, was by far the best server we’ve ever had! She was very very attentive, extremely outgoing, very kind and, the best quality…. super hilarious! She was on point with everything and made my husband, his parents and brother and me feel very welcomed. We will be asking for her next time we go in. She was absolutely awesome!
