Weis Markets — Local services in Palmyra

Sadly, I've shopped at this store for years and been happy but a recent visit was very disappointing. WARNING though they are open 7am-10pm they only provide customer service from 10am-6pm. That means for almost half of their day customer issues are not important to them. I had an an issue at a register that resulted in a price error at 6:08pm. I didnt realize it until after I had paid. I was told I would need to come back that next day at 10am to get in resolved even though there were 3 employees at empty checkouts and 2 people monitoring the self checkouts where only 2 were in use so it wasn't closed due to staffing...these are normal hours. I explained that would mean having to use vacation time from work and additonal gas to get it resolved to which I was told "I'm sorry, those are the only times we will help you." Now, I can understand the first and last hour as they are starting up and closing down but to NOT provide service half of the total hours customers are spending money in their store is unacceptable. Without those customers they wouldn't have a reason to be open. Sadly most people won't take time off of work to resolve issues which means the store is taking additional money from...

Update: Went to this store twice this week due to time limitations and was nearly sick both times. The fish department smells terrible and can be smelled as far away as the front of the store. This indicates a severe lack of cleanliness. I haven't been to this store in a year and it seems to be going even further downhill. I will literally be driving by this store to go to better stores once again.

Original Review: They have converted ALL except one of their checkout lanes to self serve, and that lane isn't open. HUGE hassle for large weekly shopping. Expect to be constantly bothered with error messages about items needing to be added to or taken out of bagging area. I will no longer be shopping here for our groceries, it is too much of a hassle when there is another cheaper grocery store nearby that has real checkout lanes manned by real people, not an extremely annoying artificial voice constantly...

I've got to say that I wish that this Weis Market was closer to me. It's so much larger and the setup when you walk in is phenomenal. The entire store has a considerable amount more of product than some of the others. And the associates are absolutely the best employees helping you to find anything you're looking for. And for the size of this particular Weis Market the cleanliness is just top notch. One last note, don't forget that they have at all their stores a pharmacy like none other, they absolutely go out of their way to provide you with every necessary prescription or non prescription items for your wellbeing. And I can personally say that the items through their pharmacy is much cheaper and the same identical quality that your local CVS...
