My husband and I are from Phoenix, AZ- so we were super excited to try this bistro out as it promised authentic Mexican food. We tried birria tacos and a carnitas chimichanga. We also got tres leches cake. The chips and salsa that were brought out before the meal were not great. The chips were not house made and the salsa was too close to tomato sauce. The birria tacos were great. I have traditionally had them fried a little crispier- but the flavor was good. The carnitas chimi was also very good. The carnitas was flavorful and the Ranchero sauce was good (I needed more sauce and they gave me more). The beans and rice were okay. Both were fresh but the beans lacked seasoning. Lastly- the tres leches cake came out dry. I was very confused as I took the first few bites. I finally asked our waitress why the tres leches was dry and she realized that the milks were not poured on. She then took back my partly eaten cake and poured the sauce on. This did make it better- but the cake portion to cream was off. It was a great piece of cake and very tasty- but it either needed to actually soak in milks (preferred) or cut the cake thinner so as to permeate the cake with the sauce if poured on top. Finally- the price point seemed high for our entree portions. I know food and labor costs have gone up- but I think for the $17 and $18 our meals cost- I could have had a much better meal. Overall, I would say give it a try if you love Mexican food and live in the area- because we don't have that many options. I may return if I'm craving birria tacos again. I hope they can improve in a few things- because they have the potential to be really good.

I don’t know where to start, but if you enjoy and appreciate authentic Mexican flavors, go somewhere else. Taco is more authentic than here. My family and I were visiting the area from out of town for my son’s birthday. We LOVE Mexican food and were excited to see a local place with 4.9 stars, and amazing review’s! Let’s start with pros:We came in and the staff were very friendly, and seated us right away. She suggested the Mexican Coke, so we grabbed 4! My son only wanted steak for some reason. And the waitress was kind enough to let us order a just a side of carne asada. He ordered that with fries. No let’s do cons: My son ordered the fries with his meal. She didn’t bring them out, and when we asked, she told us “we ran out” She didn’t bring us our chips and “salsa” though. So wr ordered the salsa platter that came with 4 dipping options. Speaking of salsa, I have had spaghetti sauce that tastes spicier than this. It was pure tomato sauce. No flavor at all. The beans that came with it, also had no flavor. So we asked for hot sauce, which was also forgotten. I ordered the carnitas platter for my meal, the pork had no flavor, and they didn’t give me the rice and beans that came with it. When I asked, I was told the rice doesn’t come with it, just the flavorless beans. Even though it’s on the menu. My wife had a burrito that had zero flavor as well. We didn’t finish our food. Paid and went to a restaurant down the road. Don’t let the reviews and photos online fool you, I’ve never had Mexican food that tasted so flavorless.

Who would say no to more authentic food in Palmyra? We had no idea this took over the old building until i drove past, and we immediately had to come for dinner. The chimichanga was absolutely STUFFED and cooked to perfection. The flautas were cripsy and chicken seasoned well, even though we personally prefer ours tonhave less of a tomato flavor. My son loved his fajitas and they came out sizzling hot with warm corn tortillas. He also got a bottle of coke, which was a nice touch. The only rhing we didnt care for was the vegis in the sides of rice that seemed as though they came out of a bag of frozen mixed vegitables. It was clear that they were frozen as the peas were dry and mealy. Other than that, I'll take the chimichangas here over Rey Azteca, which is up the road, any day. Also, the menu seems to be priced well!

Pretty solid, but (in my opinion) has to make a few adjustments to be better. Here’s a few highlights: Service was a 10/10. Best aspect of the place. Atmosphere was nice, aside from very tiny details (like the strange AI generated art on the walls) Food was good, but not great. Especially for how high the prices are. Salsa was flavorful but had no spice Queso was not good. Had a very unnatural texture and tasted almost exactly like a store-bought brand. Meat was well-cooked but sometimes lacked a strong flavor profile. Chorizo in particular had no spice and next to no flavor on its own. House-made sauces were the best aspect of the meal. The green had a good medium-hot heat and the mild red had a great flavor.

Honestly, a few tweaks and this restaurant has great potential. But with how much the restaurant is charging compared to how inconsistent the food is, I cannot give it...
