I've been to Ray's a couple of times to hang out with a group of friends. The first time I was here, I ordered a burrito, and the second time I ordered carnitas tacos. Overall, I think I prefer the tacos, as they had a good balance of meat to wrap to sauce, but the burrito was just a touch on the oily side. I do still recommend the burritos; they're quite filling and half of one can be saved for a subsequent meal. I always like getting tea here, because they have really nicd chamomile tea which really hits the spot on cold nights. As a plus, it's close to a lot of graduate housing, has a lively atmosphere, and a diverse selection of cuisines to choose from (if that is a good or a bad thing, I cannot tell you). Also, the service is usually fairly quick and the staff are nice and efficient. A minus for this place is the pricing. I feel it could be more affordable, but I guess the restaurant has to match the cost of living in this area. Another thing is the lack of vegetarian options, particularly for tacos, which becomes annoying for vegetarian students on Taco Tuesday (it's a special they run with...
Read moreThey have someone new working the counter, and ever since that change, it's pretty much gone completely downhill. She talks inappropriately with the staff about the customers in front of them and is pretty consistent with being negligent of customers' requests. What's worse is that I'm a pretty frequent customer at this place, and things usually run pretty smoothly, but ever since this particular employee's hiring, eating here has been realllly questionable.
She repeatedly chocks it up to "being new" but that doesn't excuse the rude behavior. And above all else, she shouldn't be blaming customers that come back saying that their order was wrong. It's rude to tell a customer (not me, but someone I've witnessed) that they told her the wrong order when Clearly they hadn't.
I'm just really disappointed because this used to be spot I...
Read moreAlright location for a wide range of food options from burgers to tacos and beer on campus. For the price, one would expect the portions to be a bit larger or at least come with a few more sides to make a better meal with little cost difference to the restaurant. This location is, however, open much later than a majority of the regular on campus locations, and as such tends to have a captured audience. It would be great if the location expanded seating and offered more options to engage with students such as trivia nights, socials, etc. to bring in students to the location. Also, burritos would be amazing. If you're looking for the GCC Havana room, it is around the right side (when facing Ray's entrance), or through the double...
