GoodTimes Pizza & Things — Restaurant in Palo Cedro

Dear Owner, I tired to find an email address instead of a review but was not able to find one. Went into your restaurant at 8:45PM this evening (Tuesday). I am aware the restaurant closes at 9:00. We were coming from FJC practice at Foothill that ends at 8:30 and we were hungry! I ordered one XL pepperoni pizza. The young man at the register replied to my order, “you’re ordering an XL pizza?” It was not a to confirm my order. It was a rhetorical question asked in annoyance. Then he proceeded to tell me he was making it for to go because they were closing soon. That was my plan to begin with so no problem. I had no intention of eating there. We just wanted to pick up food after practice. The pizza came out quickly. I asked for 8 ranches as I’m bringing home pizza to my kiddos. Young man working says he can only give me six. It felt punitive because we buy pizza there a lot and the young ladies are always so nice and have told me we can have as many as we need without problem. It may be something to think about to stay open during football season even just a half hour longer. You have 150 families all leaving the high school at 8:30 right now. All of them hungry. Seems like a missed opportunity for you. I’ve never experienced bad service at Goodtimes. I worked in restaurants for years when I was younger. I get it. The staff wants to go home. However, you are open until you’re not. Getting orders near closing isn’t the best part of the job however, it is part of the job. I would have an employee’s head for making my customers feel like an inconvenience that they can’t get rid of fast enough. And don’t play with a kid’s ranch for his pizza....

My wife and I are always on the lookout for a good local pizza. We moved from WNY (where pizza is serious business) to Redding and have found just a few places.

I had heard about GoodTimes a few times so we decided to make the drive (pretty short actually) and check them out.

Once inside, we saw the place was hopping and fun. Nicely dim lighting, not that cafeteria bright like a few other places. People were sitting at tables having what appeared to be a fun time. There was even a birthday party with kids going in and out of a play room off to the side.

So far, so good!

We made it to the counter to order. They have a pretty good beer selection (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on tap — what’s not to like) and my wife ordered a cab. A good one she said. We placed our pizza order and also decided for a salad bar. Now, the price of the salad bar seemed a little steep. I can say, after seeing the selection of vegetables, crisp lettuces and both macaroni and potato salad - it exceeded our expectations! Great way to start a meal. Highly recommended.

Our pizza arrived fairly quickly even though the restaurant was filling up AND their take out business was doing well.

The pizza was loaded! Lots of mushrooms, black olives and pepperoni! The crust was nicely charred and just the right thickness for a non-NY Style pizza.

We dove in! Both of us silently devouring our first slice. We both agreed - this is some good pizza! Real good :-)

Then went for seconds (and for me, thirds!!)

After having that fine salad and a few slices of the really good pizza - we were both full and glad we came here.

It will be the second on our rotation here...

6/7/25 Another "Good Time" at Good Times Pizza! Abby was our host and she is such a sweetheart. Perfect service and the salad bar is over the top and so fresh! We could go for the salad alone.

It was one of those times where the pizza wasn't just good, it was absolutely AMAZING!

Super salad, Amazing pizza, and perfect service! Can't wait until next time!

8/31/24 Good Times Pizza is a flavor experience! Pizza is exceptional, salad bar is so fresh and full of choices. Extras such as chicken wings, fried mushrooms, and mozzarella sticks are delicious! We absolutely love it here!

The things that put Good Times Pizza over the top are the people. Nella is our favorite hostess, server, and all-around amazing young lady! She is so helpful, attentive, beautiful, and pleasant. You can't help but have a good time here! Keep up the great food, and Nella, you are a superstar!

4/15/24 Good Times Pizza for the win! Had a delicious combination and bottomless salad. The pizza was fantastic, and the salad bar is fresh and filled with a variety of ingredients!

We had two beautiful and helpful servers, Nella at the counter and Maggie serving. Excellent service and super friendly atmosphere. Love this place, totally kid friendly too!

Great pizza, excellent salad bar, game room, and meeting rooms available!
