The Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Pampa

Do not eat here if you have food allergies. Employees here do not read their orders carefully. I ordered delivery and clearly stated to remove a sandwich ingredient due to allergies. When I received the order my food was covered inside and out with that ingredient. Ameribites was gracious enough to return the food and get a replacement. When I got the replacement, the ingredient was indeed not included, however, you choose your condiments when you order and the condiment I chose was not on the sandwich. It was replaced with another that I am allergic to. I am now having a moderate allergic reaction home alone with a 3 month old baby. I called the shop to speak to a manager. The person who made my food happened to answer the phone and was very dismissive. I asked her to take my information and give it to her manager to call me since she said they were not available. She argued with me about the order, saying she makes it so much she just makes it how she usually does. I tried to explain why she needs to read the order because it's dangerous for ppl with allergies. She just quicky said she had my info and hung up on me. I wanted to speak to a manager because this is not the first time this has happened and they obviously need to train their staff on reading orders. I had HIGH hopes for this little hideaway in downtown Pampa. We missed the food by 3 minutes which was a bummer but I'll get over that. And the atmosphere is amazing, the store is clean and well maintained. The lack of stars comes from an issue with staff and an inability to pay attention. A member of our party has extreme food allergies and ordered a plain latte. It was expressed multiple times that no syrup was to be added or any flavoring. We were sure to ask about flavored milks etc (this is a good allergy we have dealt with for many years and are accustomed to asking about) We paid for our drink and left after waiting over 20 minutes for one coffee, only to discover that the plain latte had syrup or some flavoring added. I know mistakes happen but this one could have sent this member into anaphylaxis shock. The issue is really that the crew was rushing to do a shift change instead of attending to customers properly. I love coming here for the quiet atmosphere and great coffee, whether I'm just popping in to grab a latte or meeting up with my wife. The staff are always friendly and take great care of you. Besides coffee they do offer different pre-made breakfast items and desserts throughout the week as well as lunch specials (Wednesday's chicken spaghetti is a local favorite). They have a separate back room for small events or meetings that we have used several times before. My only complaint is that they don't keep late night hours, closing at five o'clock except on Thursdays...
