A commercial I put together using @Joey Kalico song Conies about one of my favorite restaurants The Coney Island which with J's Drive In and The Lamplighter form the Pampa, Texas restaurant trifecta. #pampatexas #conyisland #hotdogs

I came here all the time while in high school in White Deer with my family. My dad and his family ate here when he was growing up in Skellytown. He remembers the $0.10 coneys and the made from scratch, secret recipe chili. And so do I (not the dime hotdogs though 😉). It's been almost 20 years since either of us have been back and we were a little disappointed. The famous chili didn't have anything special about it and it also looked a little watered down. Don't get me wrong, the food was ok but neither of us tasted the food we had those many years ago. We had a good time reminiscing and the place still looks the same but I probably won't make a trip back.

If you want an old time delicious coney dog smothered in chili then this is your place! This is an old time diner in scenery and food quality! The food is delicious and made from scratch. The homemade chili is traditional Texas Red and is delicious. Hamburgers, hot dogs, double baked ham sandwiches and at least ten different kinds of homemade pies…even the crust is homemade! I order my holiday pies from here and it is worth driving 40 miles to get them. It’s a dive with yellow Formica countertops and bar or booth service in downtown Pampa, TX. And the lemonade….yum! And you can’t beat the prices!

As a child in the mid 80's, this was a tradition with my father and I going in for lunch. I can't attest to how the food was, I wasn't even old enough to go to school, but I remember he raved about it and I always bugged him to go.

I hadn't been to Pampa since 1993, but while driving through the Panhandle on the way back Arizona, I detoured so I could show my girlfriend where I was born and spent the first few years of my life. We found ourselves getting hungry and she suggested we find a typical fast food joint. I said, "If it is still there, I have a better place in mind." I was overjoyed to see it was still there and while the interior is updated, has stayed pretty true to my memory. The food was awesome and the staff was great. I definitely understand why my father...
