Golden Chick — Restaurant in Panama City

Good morning! My name is Diana Sims, and I wanted to let you know about an experience I had with a gentleman named Carl at the store on Hwy 98 in Panama City recently. I placed my order through Doordash, and after the driver had left I realized I hadn’t gotten something I ordered. I ordered the Family meal with 3 sides – fries, okra and mashed potatoes. I got 2 boxes of okra and the mashed potatoes but no fries. So I reported it to doordash and they offered me a credit. Okay, but I wanted my fries ( I love y’all’s fries) so I called the restaurant and spoke to a gentleman named Carl. I told him my problem and that I know my dasher didn’t check the order before leaving and he told me I could come in the next day after 3 pm and ask for him and he’d take care of me. I said thank you, and that was that. Afterwards, I went back and looked at my order and I discovered that I had made the error, NOT Golden Chick. I know that Carl knew that because I heard a pause in his voice when he must’ve been reviewing my order on the computer, but instead of saying “ma’am I’m sorry but you did order 2 okra, he just decided to “take care” of me. I called the store yesterday and spoke to him, and first thing he said was “where are you – I told you to come in and I’d fix it” and even after I told him what happened he was willing to have me come back. I worked in retail for over 10 years, and I know how often customers write in to complain. So I just wanted to write and give Carl a KUDDOS for the superior customer service he afforded me. And, I wanted to make sure that his supervisor was aware so I asked him for this email address so I could write to you.

My family loves your chicken, and I think my daughter and son in law could eat their weight in your rolls, so we are definitely going to be staying faithful to Golden Chick. And thank you, for the service Carl gave to an old lady who couldn’t place her order...

Ok, so I'll confess, if you are sleeping on Golden Chick, you're missing out. Not only has "Happiness Beeeen Within" every box, every week but today I ordered a 3 piece tender snack and I was BLESSED WITH EXTRA ROLLLS. Y'all listen, I don't know if it was an accident but if you've ever eaten one then you would know that the rolls are like warm mana straight from carb heaven! The softness is what my childhood self would imagine it's like to eat a pillow or maybe even fog but better, it brings back memories of Sundays at Ryan's rolls bought to your table except you don't need the honey butter. How is a roll soft, but moist but sweet and fluffy? No answer makes sense. The tenders are hot, and crispy and the crunch is long-lasting just like I want which is why there's only 1 in the pic (don't judge me, worry about your Mama) Every. Single. Time. and whatever that Zing sauce is, well it's delicious so who cares for real? The Superbowl of this place is the sweet older lady that greets me in the drive-thru every visit. I feel like I'm picking up lunch from my Sweet Grandma, except I always pay. She always hands me my bag with a hair-net and a gold smile. "Have a good day sweetie" and I'm like, "Yes ma'am you too "....not literally but I think it. Last week was her birthday, y'all be nice and show her some love when you stop by! If you can relate...

This was some of the best chicken I had ever had but my experience could have been better. We ate here 2 days back to back while we was in Panama for 4 days because the chicken was so good. They have the best rolls too but everything has to be fresh. The customer service was good but we had issues both visits. The first visit I asked for everything fresh. They gave us cold wings which was 10.00 for 6 and left out the dirty rice. The second visit I asked for everything fresh again for 55.00 I wanted all my food fresh. Same thing happened I told them I wanted fresh tenders. I watched the mgr put the tenders in the box that had been sitting up there. So I had to get them made fresh again and when they re made them it's like they didn't let them cook long enough they was light and wasn't crispy at all like the first time. I was very disappointed. We still ended up throwing out the second box of tenders. I won't say I won't eat here again but if you want good food from here everything has to be fresh. We had the 16 tender meal with fries, dirty rice and orka added a 6 piece wing. The fries was delish and orka. The second time we had fries and orka with the 16 tenders. So for 2 days after spending over 100 with them hell yeah I want my chicken to be good. The spicy...
