Let me just say I wouldn't recommend it. We are checked in right now. When we arrived the person at the front acted like she disnt want to help is and rolled her eyes at us. I let her know that we had a reservation and of course polite as I always am. She dis a rush job I had to repeat myself due to she was going to run the wrong card for the deposit. Feom there we asked where the room was located she state on the other side of the building we thanked her. From there we asked about local pizza places and of course her response was rude and was lime rhere was this place but it was shut down and domino's is somewhere around d here. Then she rolled her eyes again lime we were annoying her and the tone of her voice was very unpleasant. We googled pizza places and for some odd reason the one she stated was shut down for gokd stated it was opened. So, we went to it and it was delicious and will ha e it on my next review to contribute. Get back and we go to the other side and it stated 109. We had to go around the block si ce there is only 1 entrance and 2 exits to even get back in to get to our room. We open the door and the fiancé goes to touch the light switch and quick flash happe ed but no lights. So we had to feel around d for the lamps to turn the lights on each individually. Oh trust me it gets better (worse). The floor was sticky lime it had not been washed in over a week. I go to put our bathroom stuff by the sink and there was a dead roach on the left side of the sink. I picked it up with a kleenex. Oh it gets better (worse). I go to use the bathroom and 2 more roaches haul ass from. The tub towards the wall by the door which I stepped on those too. So, go to office and she looked at me as I came towards the door and she took off. What the heck we did nothing g wrong to her. I feel that she gave us the feeli g of discrimination with our international relationship. Walked back and went to take a shower and guess what I seen public hairs all along the tile that was touching the tub GROSS....... I cleaned it up so I could take one. By the way they were not mine or my fiancé 's due to we DO NOT have them down therr I. Our domains, if you get drift. It gets interesting from there I'm washing my hair and the damn plaster on the ceiling that is right above the shower came falling down and not just hit my face but my hair and they were small pieces but you could see the painted ply wood and aster differences. Wanting to say something to the gi at the office but how she made is feel was not welcoming at all like we disnt belong. So, I hope someone reaches out to correct this...
Read moreWe are Choice members and have always been very satisfied with our stays; however, this Quality Inn in Panama City was certainly an exception to that. I wish I had something positive to say, but that is not the case. Here are some of the issues we encountered:
We stated at booking that we would be a late arrival and were told the room would be held until 7 am, which I believe is the Choice Hotels policy. About 9:00 pm (when we were about an hour away from this hotel), we received a call wondering where we were. I could hear him talking in the background to someone else, apparently someone who wanted our room. He did save our room, to be fair.
When checking in, I was asked to initial that I accepted the charges. So, before I initialed I tried to find my reservation on the app to be sure the price was the same. It was gone. They had already charged my credit card before I even initialed the rate acceptance. When I questioned him about it, he said that wasn't true. Obviously, it was, but at 10pm after many hours of driving, I didn't want to argue with him
The room was not well-maintained and was quite filthy. It was so bad that I didn't want to take off my socks. When I looked at my socks the next morning, they were BLACK on the bottom. Really unbelievable.
TV was not fully operational. We wanted to watch ESPN and the desk said those channels were not working at this time, and they would look into it. They didn't.
The bottom of the pool was filled with debris. I wouldn't stick one toe in it.
I called Customer Relations the next morning because I felt they needed to know that one of their hotels was not up to their usual standards. They said they could not help while I was staying at the hotel. They would call the hotel and the manager would contact me. The manager never said a word.
If this had been my first experience with a Choice Hotel, it would have been my last. Thankfully, every other Choice Hotel I have stayed at has...
Read moreMy friend and I went to Panama City, FL for a short vacation. First off, there are so many other hotels in this area so please stay somewhere else! This hotel also was fraudulent towards my credit card. They charged my card $160.39 and $190.39 for “activation fees”. That was on top of the $30 deposit and the room charge. They also took out $95 two days after I was home from the vacation. My credit card company is now trying to fight this with me. We were supposed to stay here 4 nights which turned into 1. Due to the uncleanliness and the fact there were two cockroaches in our room caused us to leave the second day. Upon leaving, we contacted the front desk using the paper with contact information we received during check in. We also sent them an email with photos of the room attached. The way they dealt with the situation showed me this isn’t the first time. No surprise about the roach and whoever I was speaking to was severely incompetent by not knowing how to spell or use proper grammar. Every email had “sent from my iPhone” on it. How extremely unprofessional. They then told me to email them back saying I will take $50 (out of $571 I originally gave them) back and have no further issues with the hotel. That’s also extremely sketchy by them trying to tell me how to email them. Because of all of this, we had to spend an extra $600 on hotels for our stay so we wouldn’t have to sleep in our car. We will never ever stay at a Quality Inn or any hotel of the Choice Hotels. Worst experience...
