3 years ago I ended up having the worst customer service experience ever here at porky's. And still stands greatly in my memories
Story time.
So me and my girlfriends from Louisville travel for the purpose of paoli peaks but unfortunately ended up being closed, so of course we wanted to get something to eat on the way home. We stop stop here at this joint. We continue to be seated and have our drink brought to us by what seemed to be a very kind waitress. One of us ended up being clumsy and spilling water. We were very apologetic and offered to clean it up. The waitress was still super friendly and just moved us to another table. But I guess in the meantime as we switched tables there was a switch flipped on this waitress to pure anger towards us. As we ordered we had attitude and rolling eyes at us. We just brushed it off. She brings us our food and one of the girl simply comments that theres something wrong with her platter and doesn't think she ordered this exact meal. This waitress continues to get smart with us. Walking all over the restaurant, has other employees looking our way. Starting commotion in the restaurant. The owner himself comes up to us and continues to side with the waitress and says its OUR fault, wants to stir the pot with us. We said that we all work in the restaurant service and literally the first thing you learn in restaurants is that the customers are always right! We continued to babble off nonsense especially me, I remember sounding like an idiot. He canceled our bill and asked us to leave? But we gladly did. As we were leaving the waitress flicked us off too from the back of the restaurant with a cig hanging out of her mouth. We returned the favor too and gave her all of our fingers in the air. Its honesty funny looking back on it now but seriously the worst service ever. Didn't...
Read moreI'm not one to usually complain but man this place has really gone down hill.
First problem: we asked for a high chair and it was crusted with food and had no safety clasp.
Second problem: floor and table were very sticky. Like shoes make a smacking noise it's so bad.
Third problem: Prices are INSANE. They have gone up 2+ dollars from what they used to be while the portions and flavor have gone down in size!
Fourth problem:chicken is dry and bland. You have to smother it in sauce to make it edible.
Fifth problem: service was pretty subpar. The server only came to our table 3 times (including check drop). She dumped the check 10 minutes after I carried our baby to the car. I walked out right in front of her. She should have taken that as cue to drop the check. My husband had to stop her from walking away to request a box. She turned to some other server and asked them to get it. She didn't really deserve a tip but I get that some people have bad days. We decided to tip anyway just in case.
Btw it was not busy at all so there is really no excuse for it just being an overall bad experience. We won't be coming back which is sad because it used to be a go to...
Read moreOur first trip to Porky's was one week ago on Saturday. Oh My God! Best meal ever. I love Bbq and this was hands down the best. My husband and I both had the pulled pork dinner. We both had the baked beans. He had cole slaw and I had onion rings. The portion of pulled pork was enough for two. Tender and juicy and a great smoky flavor. The baked beans were ABSOLUTELY the best I have ever had. They were thick, had plenty of meat in them and an awesome smoke flavor. Onion rings were perfect. Our waitress was fantastic. Everyone there was friendly. We loved the atmosphere. If I could rate them higher than 5 stars I would. We couldn't wait to go back, so we went back on Tuesday. We both ordered the same thing as we did on Saturday. It was still fantastic and will go back again, hopefully soon, but the baked beans was not quite as good as on Saturday. Not as thick, soupier and not much meat or smoke flavor. The beans we took home from the first visit filled the kitchen with the good smoke aroma when I reheated them. The pulled pork could have been a tad warmer also. Maybe two different cooks. BUT still an awesome place. We even like it better than...
