Smoothie King — Restaurant in Papillion

I felt the need to update my review after several unpleasant transactions involving the owners. The employees are still amazing, but the owners are incredibly rude and don't know how to work their own POS system.

At one point the male owner mansplained one of my customizations to me.

I frequently sub vegan options in my smoothies. My last in store encounter with the owners was a nightmare. She looked confused and seemed to be struggling with the POS system. She made it very clear she was annoyed with my requests saying "just order from the vegan menu" and that there was no way my substitutions (that I have done many times) would taste good. I am not normally rude but told her I would just use the app. I haven't ordered in store since.

The smoothies are great and the employees are awesome. If you like to customize your smoothies, do yourself a favor and use the app just in case the owners are working.

Most of the employees are young and it's likely their first job or a part time job or whatever it may be but time and time again it's glaringly obvious that they don't care about their job or giving customers a great experience. The smoothies are great and that's why we come back but when you look the kid behind the counter in the eye and say "put it in a Styrofoam cup please" and then they procede to put every smoothie into a plastic cup it's very frustrating. My first time at a smoothie king but I had a $5 gift card from work so figured I'd give it a shot. Tried it on a monday afternoon and there was no wait. The service was great (very helpful suggestions/recommendations and didn't make me feel stupid for asking questions). I ened up with the small peanut power plus shake and really enjoyed it! Tasted like an icecream shake but way healthier! Word of caution- it was EXTREMELY FILLING! So glad I got the small because I was beyond stuffed by the time...
