Update... 02/05/23...
Moustos has redeemed itself...
I left a one star review for this place about a year and a half ago due to the horrible service we received.
My family and I have been back a handful of times since then and each and every time has been excellent. The food, the atmosphere, the service, etc...
This has now become one of our favorite Italian places to eat.
Keep up the good work Moustos!!!!
Prior one star review...
I rarely ever leave a bad review for a restaurant, but I feel this one deserves it. My family of five and I went to Moustos on 09/05/21 at approximately 3:15 PM. We were passing through Paris from out of town and were excited to try something new. We had known about Moustos for quite some time and had been wanting to try them. Rain had passed through the area a couple of hours prior and the temperature was nice. We were wanting to sit outside. I went in and spoke with the hostess who told me in a monotone rude manner that we could not sit outside because the chairs were wet. That was not the case, as I had felt of them. The tables were also dry at this point. I went outside and relayed to my family that we couldn't eat outside. We were all disappointed, but decided to give them a try anyway. We all went in this time and my wife approached the hostess. Before even saying anything, the hostess told her that it would be a long wait. There were two couples sitting in the waiting area at this time. The rest of the restaurant was almost empty, as was the parking lot. My wife asked, how long is a long wait? The hostess said it would be forty minutes and provided no explanation or apology. Once again, she was monotone and seemed to care less. Another member of our party asked if they were understaffed. She said yes, there were only two servers on the floor. By this point, we were all less than impressed with her attitude. You would think, especially if you are understaffed and things are moving slowly, that you would try to be polite and keep customers by offering some type of explanation or at least acting like you care if we are there. We decided to leave and go elsewhere. We will not be back. I would venture to say that this hostess turned away at least $100.00 to $150.00 worth of business. Perhaps that is why their parking lot is not nearly as full as it used to be. Had she been nice, explained things, and acted like she wanted our business, we would have stayed and just waited. We had nowhere else to be. We were in no hurry. I cannot say enough about how her attitude was truly what made us leave. Very...
Read moreI'm shocked. The restaurant looks nice and inside has beautiful facilities, the hostesses at the front desk of the restaurant were great, nice. That's the end of my compliments. Your Mr. waiter was rude, he doesn't know how to behave. He has absolutely no idea what table service is supposed to look like in a restaurant. We had opened our menus yet and he was already standing there yelling what we wanted to drink and eat ( could you please give him training on what restaurant etiquette looks like and that the gentleman should wait until the guests close their menus and know what they are ordering to eat and drink?) He threw drinks on our table like a food /water for dog. Same food, we ordered appetizers, soups and a main dish . He literally threw the soups on our table first and after 5 minutes he literally threw the appetizers on our table. After another 10 minutes the main dishes. Are you guys out of your minds? You put a fork and knife with your pasta? Didn't anyone teach you that you eat pasta with a fork and stick a spoon underneath? The bruschetta was probably a poor relation of the Italian bruschetta, because on 5 pieces of bread one would have to look for mozzarella with a magnifying glass, but the balsamic vinegar was there for a whole regiment of the army🤦. We ordered the Pinot Grigio wine ( you either dilute it with water or buy some extreme cheap crap from Costco/Sam's ). I am DISAPPOINTED. Overall impression? The premises great, you waiter should go work on the take out drive at McDonalds and not at the restaurant. Your Italian food didn't even see Italian ingredients from the plane. Etiquette Mr. Waiter's behavior 0 points Food? Very low cheap quality ( only classic baguette was great ) Price for this? Over priced. I luv quality food and restaurant but this was mistake Try educate your staff's, he...
Read moreI'm struggling with this review as I want to be fair. My complaint wasn't with the food exactly, I'm quite confident it was a random thing, but it was handled poorly.
So I went to lunch with a friend who is Jewish. I got the spinach and feta pizza (which was amazing!). She got the fettuccine alfredo....because no pork.
Well a few bites in she asks me to taste it because she tastes bacon. I told her she was nuts and I tasted the sauce, as predicted no bacon. She was insistent though. So I see a small "crumble" on the top and taste that. Well it wasn't bacon but it was Pancetta. I saw 2 on the whole dish plus the one she tasted. It was obviously not put there intentionally, I figure it fell off another plate somehow.
However, when she notified the server, we were told "No it doesn't have pork on it." She again insisted she knew it didn't come with pork, that's why she orders it every time, but there is some on this dish and points to the little crumble. This servers response was to say "I can tell you're concerned but I wouldn't be. It doesn't have pork on it." and walked away.
No offer to replace it. No offer to take it off the bill. Not even an apology. So my friend ended up taking it home to feed to her dogs and we split my pizza instead.
Like I said, the food was good. Even the fettuccine tasted good but there were absolutely a couple of stray crumbles of Pancetta on it and her dietary restrictions shouldn't have been dismissed when she didn't order the...
