A Better Place — Restaurant in Park Rapids

Very very rude arrogant management and staff. I live nextdoor & so my backyard (as well as that of the other tennants in my building), adjoins the sidewalk in front of "THE WORST PLACE", I was ordered to "move along" (by the owners snivveling, jackass of a son), while I was peacefully sitting on the sidewalk out front & visiting (less than 5mn) with a patron of the bar on a sunny summer day. I felt humiliated, scorned, & confused. Later I learned (after speaking with law enforcement), that the area in which I had been occupying, was in fact "public property" owned by taxpayers, & the cranky little prick DID NEVER, have a right to harass or command me away. This example is just one of many rude confrontations which myself, my neighbors, & other patrons have suffered because the owners spoiled son is allowed to bully & spread malcontent every time has has his period. You can't really beat A Better Place for a casual drink at the end of a long work day. The pool tables are only 50 cents a game and they have many choices of tap beer. You'll find me and my friends here almost every Friday night and its not odd for us to play pool for up to six hours. The service is friendly but careful, they don't put up with fighting or low lifes (not to mention minors) in this bar and, personally, I find that very refreshing. They encourage a good crowd and good, fun people. The place is always clean and its big enough that even when its packed you can always find a pool table or just a table to sit at. The local pool league plays here often because their pool tables are considered some of the best around (and they have 5 with a 6 being installed!). Rude bartender. Asked him what was on tap and he told us to go to the middle of the bar (which was packed) to look at what's on tap, and then dramatically gestured to the rest of us and asked if any of us /actually/ knew what we wanted. It's really not that hard to have a list of what you carry on tap. Atmosphere leaves much to be desired. The layout of the place makes it hard to navigate through a crowd without being bumped into a bunch. It's definitely not the type of place I'd go to sit and enjoy a drink after work.
