They don't even deserve a 1 star, but that is all I could choose. Didnāt get a chance to try the ice cream because of an incredibly rude employee! I don't care how good your food is, if you cannot treat people good, you shouldn't be in business. This was the 1st vacation we have had since our daughter was born in June of 2017. She has been in the he hospital for nearly 6 months of her life having open heart surgery and multiple other heart surgeries. We come to Park Rapids to fish and was told to come to the Minnesoda Fountain. We decided to come to town and have lunch and ice cream and shop. Our daughter who was is not even a year old was a bit cranky as she is teething. She was squealing some and we were trying to console her. One of the employees kept given me a dirty look every time our daughter would squeal. As she let her 5th or 6th she came over and said to my not even one year old daughter, āif you donāt stop making so much noise, Iām going to have to ask you to leaveā. I couldnāt believe my ears. It was quite obvious to all that we were trying to console our daughter, and she had the nerve to tell my daughter we were going to have to leave. It is hard enough as a parent when your children are having a moment and people are staring at you and judging you when you are already embarrassed. If this had been my 7 or 4 year old, I could have understood as they are old enough to know better, but a baby. What is wrong with this lady!? And not just a baby, a baby that has literally been through hell in back in her 11 short months on this earth. A baby who was given a 1 to 2% chance to make it to her 1st year of life. I was furious! It ruined our entire day! What a very unwelcome way to treat your out of state visitors who are supporting your local economy. I out of anger shared some not so pleasant words with this said heartless women and our table of 7 got up and walked out, forgetting about our order that we chose not to wait for. Several other visitors commented on her behavior and how it wasnāt right as we were walking out. I suggest trying to treat people with kindness and understanding. Because of one personās behavior, we choose not to shop at all of the other little shops along the way. Anyone who has ever raised a child understands itās not an easy task and babies are sometimes hard to console. This women apparently never had any children of her own. Please considering stopping somewhere else if you have children, this shop is NOT...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe have been coming here every summer on our family vacation for the past many yearsā¦with upwards of 20+ of our family members. We have always loved this place and the ice cream and friendly staff. This year the place got a lovely facelift and it appears a change in ownership - with that we were incredibly disappointed to find out that this year we were not allowed to sit down at any of the booths with our large group (10 of us) unless we purchased a food item (the $100 of ice cream and malts we purchased dont qualify apparently) we all stood there awkwardly with glass dishes of ice cream and some with two malt cups - how are we supposed to enjoy this STANDING (they told us this after we got our ice cream)?? Not to mention this was difficult for our young ones and grandparents in our group. The other incredibly limited seating was full aside from 4 large empty booths that we werenāt allowed to sit in. I went over and ordered a dish so we would be allowed to sit at a open booth but this is not good hospitality for your guests. My fil even talked to the staff and they said that was just the rules. There is not enough counter seating for most groups who came (only 8 at the counter altogether) in and several were standing around with their ice cream like us feeling a bit put out. Please reconsider your seating rules or consider increasing the seats at the counter and overall like the previous owners. BTW the pickle fries are amazing. My rating would be a 5 star if it were not for the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe recently visited Minnesoda Fountain multiple times on our family trip, and as always, it did not disappoint! Minnesoda Fountain has been a staple on our family vacations for the past 11 years, and we were thrilled to hear they were reopening with new owners. During our recent trip the week of the 4th of July, we had the pleasure of dining there multiple times.
On our first visit, my husband had the homemade coleslaw and the club sandwich, while I enjoyed the Main Street with fries. Our children all had the chicken strips and fries, which were a huge hit! The food was delicious.
We enjoyed our meal so much that we ordered the exact same thing on our second visit. We were pleasantly surprised that our meals tasted just as fantastic as they did the first time. Consistency in taste and quality is something we truly appreciate.
Both of our waiters, Preston and Megan, were awesome. They were attentive and friendly, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. The managers and owners made multiple stops at our table to check on us, which made us feel valued and welcomed.
To top off our meals, we indulged in ice cream. My boys tried four different flavors each and loved all of them. I really appreciate that there were dairy-free options for our little girl.
Overall, we loved all of our experiences at Minnesoda Fountain! We are excited to continue our tradition of visiting during our family vacations for...
