If I could leave a no star review I would. Highly disappointed and embarrassed by this business with the ice cream cake that was made for my child’s birthday party. The photo itself that is attached with this review is pretty self explanatory. Please know I did confirm the details of what was requesting for the cake with the gentleman that had called me to go over the demands, as he had phrased it, but did advise I was asking to see if they could or couldn’t do the caramel and writing in blue, and this man that had called me was by the way rather rude on the phone which should of been the red flag not to have even proceeded with the cake through this business, and assume was one of the owners of the store for the kids working when went in prior advised they are the ones that handle the cakes. This ice cream cake really was just a simple request of a plain vanilla cake with the Oreo “filler” that was lacking a lot, asked if they could do some kind of a caramel drizzle on the sides or an edging of it but only if it was possible for them to do it, and the writing in blue if possible. I did strongly advise and had to repeat myself that if they couldn’t do the caramel or blue writing, to please not do it at all and would be okay if couldn’t do it. All while asking these was bluntly told it will be extra for each which I was more than willing to pay these extra charges for them if they could do it no problem. And I did. Once the ice cream cake had arrived to the birthday party, I had a very, very upset child that I had to calm down and horror of sight of a cake that was absolutely way too embarrassing to even think about serving. I hadn’t even seen this cake until it had arrived to the party. With it being way too late to try and find another cake, had to make a mad dash to try and cover it up for there was no fixing it. Thankfully the birthday party supply pack I had purchased had come with cupcake decorations that was used to hide this disaster as best as possibly could. I just wish that this business would have been upfront and honest if they couldn’t do the two additional requested and that was advised okay not to do if they couldn’t do it, or even have the confidence to do it. They should have called to advise right away if they were doing it that it wasn’t looking good, or not even done the extra requested at all if it was going to turn out like this. Instead it was their own decision that this was even okay to be given to a customer or even considered to be acceptable in the first place. I had called earlier today and asked to speak to a manager regarding a complaint and issue with the birthday cake. Was informed that it would have to be an owner to talk to regarding the matter and would have them call me back by Monday for they are only in during the week days. I had understood and accepted that information, leaving contact information with the employee that answered the phone for them to reach me at. I am currently waiting to hear if I will get a call back regarding the matter, but I’m not holding my breath. At this point forward I do not and will no longer be recommending this business to anyone after this experience. From now on I will proceed with using Dairy Queen for any future ice cream cakes for parties.

Butterfield's has always been my favorite ice cream shop in Parker but the quality has gone downhill recently. I have previously ordered their ice cream cakes for special occasions. I picked up a cake yesterday. I was expecting writing on the cake, not chocolate block letters. There was nothing else to decorate with and I was never asked. I was charged additional for the lettering AND the frosting! Cake doesn't include anything on the outside?!? The inside had two layers of ice cream, nothing in-between. It was literally just ice cream. The ice cream tastes good, but I won't be buying a cake from them again.

I think this store has changed ownership, but not for the better was my experience. The ice cream is still delicious but they were out of multiple flavors. The place itself wasn't clean and the one person working the front was trying hard while someone in the back never came out to help even though there were 8 to 10 people in line. Price has gone up and the serving size is smaller. Unfortunate as this used to be one of the best ice cream places in Parker.

I know someone who could run the shop better.

Where does one start? The quality has gone downhill severely since the change in ownership.

As we entered, the shop itself was questionable in cleanliness and overall upkeep. Surfaces were very clearly dirty, and although still legible, it was evident that the labels for the flavors had not been replaced in some time. If the front of the house wasn't well taken care of, I began to shudder when thinking of what the back looked like.

This lack of attention to health and safety became a much greater issue after returning home. We had ordered two regular scoops and a milkshake, as well as two pints to take home. The scoops had the consistency of soft-serve, as another reviewer has pointed out, and the flavor just wasn't the same as before the management change. Both flavors (Lychee and S'mores, respectively) had their own unique and unwanted aftertaste that made us hesitate to finish them. As they melted further, the consistency became that of water rather than melted ice cream. However, a member of our party complained of a particularly heinous aftertaste that got worse as he got farther through his shake. After some discussion, we came to realize something. Had gone. Sour. We determined this to be the whipped cream and immediately threw out the shake. One quick call to the store later, it turns out the expiration date was sometime in the spring of this year (several months prior to the writing of this review). They didn't offer any compensation for the expired shake either, aside from their sympathies.

The staff were friendly and wore gloves, but did not wash their hands to our knowledge, and no hair nets were being used, or even aprons for that matter. Over all, I would not grace this facility with your business, but if this isn't convincing enough for you, then sort the reviews by...

Absolutely horrific. Was made aware of an employee Elise telling people to kill themselves and when I called to speak to a manager of the situation named Danielle (who said she doesn't care) I was spoken to aggressively off of the bat. She began to raise her tone at me, proving she has 0 professionalism skills which is sad as far as I'm concerned for a manager of a supposedly respectable establishment. I asked to speak to the owner of the store in which she began to become more irate (why? this doesn't concern you anymore unless you don't want me to "tattle" on your abhorrent treatment of customers) and when she finally did give me his number she felt the need to tell me he wouldn't care either. Which is absolutely fine for now but I'm sure he will care when his customers drop like flies after I share this horrific treatment at the hands of his employees to all of my family and fellow Colorado patrons. I know many more people feel the same and as someone who frequents this establishment everytime I come into town to meet family (which is at least twice a month) I know they have also lost all of their and their own friends business. How disgusting and disturbing of a business to not only allow employees to represent them in such a way but think it is acceptable to yell at a long time patron for not excusing deplorable behavior. I will not...
