Happy Garden — Restaurant in Parkersburg

I recently stopped by Happy Garden for takeout after having moved away from the area over two years ago, and I was thoroughly impressed. Although I didn’t recognize the current staff, they were incredibly friendly and efficient. Despite it being a busy Monday dinner hour, they managed to prepare my order exceptionally fast.

As a pleasant surprise, we received free almond cookies with our $40 walk-in order. We ordered plain lo mein, chicken lo mein, chicken with broccoli, chicken with snow peas, and the biscuit donuts. Every dish was delicious and maintained the high quality I remembered. They don’t skimp on the chicken or vegetables, packing every container to the brim. The meal was definitely cost-effective and worth every penny.

First off the food is always good! The service definitely not!!!!!! We have eaten here at least once a month for a couple years. We love Chinese food! I called and asked if they do tap pay and the girl taking the order said yes. I get there it doesn’t work. In explaining that it’s my dasher card on tap pay and that’s how I need to pay. The older woman was very rude and mean. She kept talking over me and treating me like I didn’t have the money which I showed her was not the case. Considering their air conditioning wasn’t working and it was 100 degrees in there you would think she would be a little more understanding about things going wrong! The young girl with the glasses up front that was taking orders was very rude. Looking for a fav new chinese place. New to town. After reading the reviews I decided to give it a try. The girl taking orders had no smile. No hi hello. Just seemed rushed and unhappy to be there. Didn't make much eye contact. The food was kind of expensive. 26$. The cheese woutons were scarce. Only a little bit of filling in the middle. The rest was chewy. The pineapple chicken was soggy. The breading on it was kind of weird. Like it was pre made and just heated up. The egg roll was just ok. It was small. Portions are very plentiful. Wait time was around 10 min (not bad). Restaurant was clean.
