The Pizza Place — Restaurant in Parkersburg

The Pizza Place has very compelling elements though a fatal flaw holds it back from greatness. They use quality ingredients. Their pepperoni is small and spicy. It adds just the right amount of kick to the pizza overall. The vegetables seem very fresh. The deluxe (i.e. supreme) pizza brings together vegetable freshness with roasted spicy meats flavors. The overall flavor was surprisingly complex. There was a general hint of sourness though I couldn't tell the source (banana pepper juice?). The quantity of toppings is unlike anything I've ever experienced on a pizza. On the deluxe, the toppings were probably half the total pizza weight. These strengths make The Pizza Place stand out from its peers. Unfortunately, I've experienced undercooked crust on all three pizzas from there. Crust cooking is one of the basic skills in pizza making. Ironically, the The Pizza Place struggles with this basic skill although they are proficient in the more advanced skills of ingredient sourcing...

Felt their Supreme pizza had a sour taste too it on certain bites. I couldn't figure it out what it was. Toppings are largest ive ever seen on a pizza which is why I gave it 4 stars. Pizza was big and doughy, 2 slices was enough for some while I doubled down and ate 4. I was in a coma. However their pepperoni was great though I can't imagine both pizzas run at the same price, which makes me scratch my head. Shouldnt it be cheaper since its just 1 topping. I dont live here, just a lover of pizza and a trucker passing through. I think they have something here. Owned operated pizza joints aren't easy with so many franchised pizza spots this place could put itself on the map. Hopefully they step it up a bit, maybe the pandemic has put them on the wire and their cutting corners to cut cost which is understandable. Hopefully this pandemic ends and they put the money and time needed because overall I think they have a homerun. Cant find pizza of this magnitude in Cali...

My family and I have always loved pizza place never once have we complained BUT tonight I drove from rockport to get the 2 large pizzas I ordered. When I got back home they forgot to put pepperoni on the one and the cheese was still in its original shape “unmelted”. I called them and was nice on the phone stating my issue and asking for either a refund or a make up pizza. The girl that answered the phone was relaying the conversation with the man that makes the pizzas. He first told her no, then he changed his mind and told her to let me know they don’t do refunds but I could have a $6 in store credit 😒 I literally just spent $63 on 2 pizzas. I could hear him being nasty in the back ground so I told her to tell him to just keep the money and not to worry about me or my family ever coming back. The mushrooms and peppers were ice cold like he didn’t even bake them...
