Had a terrible experience here: my sister explains to the manager that leaving a smaller tip and then being confronted about it in order to publicly humiliate my sister in front of our family is not okay.
Here is the long story: (p.s. will not be going back, worth the read) Server refused to give my siblings a wine bottle (they are in their 30s) and insisted they were to share a glass of wine instead. When they made it clear that she did not hear correctly, instead of fixing the mistake, she said that's not what she heard and proceeded to walk away and not fix the problem. Additionally, I requested a different sauce on my sushi roll and instead, no sauce was added to my roll. We communicated the sauce issue to clarify what I meant. When my roll came out, no sauce was added to my roll and I had to go up to a person behind the bar to get my sauce. When the bill finally came, my sister who suggested this place for mother's day, as a family dinner for my mother, sister's and I to have our annual mother's day sushi dinner night was treated very poorly. Both of my sisters (who again, are in their 30s) have had waitressing and server jobs for multiple years (who have had excellent reviews and who have never been fired from the service industry) felt like the service was not up to their standards (they normally do NOT feel this way often about places). Therefore, they left about a 10% tip because they did not have a good experience and felt like the server was rude. When the server came to collect the bill, she collected my sister's and must have taken it back to the manager (a small lady that was dressed in a fancier outfit) because that "manager" came back to the table and put my sister's receipt booklet down in front of her, opened it up and then pointed at the tip saying "Was the service not good?". As my sister was in shock, she responded trying to explain that she did not believe the service was acceptable and as she started to explain, our server jumped in and started yelling at my sister saying that she really didn't order a bottle (which is confusing because if she really wanted a bottle, it doesn't matter if the server didn't hear it correctly the first time, but it's the fact she knew they wanted a bottle but never did anything to correct it or explain if they sell bottles to share or not). After that, my sister explains that being confronted is not helping and only making the situation worse for them since the manager is trying to publicly humiliate my sister in front of our family. The manager ignores it and said that she has seen my sister in here before and never had a problem. My sister who has never been there said she had never been here before and that it is our first time, the manager said "Well, we have been in business for already 10 years". My sister replied back with saying "Well that's good for you, but we are not from around here" and the manager says "well that explains it then". With this attitude we were receiving, we decided to walk out because we believed this was ridiculous. As we were walking out, the manager tried to speak to our mother and tried to get her on their side to pit us against each other. However, this plan didn't work as our mother knew my sister's have an amazing work ethic and understand how and how a service...
Read moreWell where do I begin... first off, the service was terrible. The waitress was just not interested at all. It took ten minutes from being seated to her coming over to take our drinks order. After several more minutes, she came back with the wrong drink for me and took another lengthy period of time to rectify it. There was no silverware on our table (she also bused the table prior to us taking it) so we assumed we had to eat our starter with our hands. When the entrees came out, we still had no silverware and had to request it from her, to which she apologised and brought over two forks. No knives or chopsticks so eating the entree was difficult. My husband's entree tasted amazing, but with mine, the chicken tasted rubbery and I wasn't sure it was even cooked properly. I took it home in a box to look at it in better lighting and it was pink inside. One thing the waitress was good at was removing our plates each time a course was finished. She was also good at checking us out, except for the fact she hadn't even asked us if we wanted to check out and I was intending on trying the tempura ice cream so they lost out on some extra cash there. I was just done at that point. She also didn't ask how our food was at any point and just didn't have time for us at all. The restaurant was full, but it is not that big and I have had better service at busier restaurants. I did not want to leave a tip but my husband left her $5, IMO it is $5 she should put towards going to school and learning basic social skills. I have only had worse service in one other place, PF Chang's where the waiter seemed to not even know what planet he was on. In summary, I recommend this restaurant to people who like to sit around doing nothing for long periods of time and enjoy the sensation of...
Read moreTerrible experience. I used to love going here a few years ago so I went there a yesterday and the experience was just terrible. Probably the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. First of all, I called to make a reservation and I couldn’t understand a single word the guy was saying . Like at least put someone on the phone that knows how to speak to people. I went inside with some friends and had the orange chicken with noodles. They were not the best. I felt so sick right after I ate like a few. Then I got the bill for like $60 for only 2 people. The other people that we were with said they would cover our tip through their card because I didn’t have any more cash on me only in my car. Before we left some worked comes running after us saying how we didn’t tip and started yelling at us but we could barely even understand him because he couldn’t even speak English. I tried to explain to him that we had our tip on the other check but he insisted that we give more. Either way a tip is not even mandatory in the U.S.A but he just wouldn’t leave us alone and created a huge scene. Finally I just went back to my car and got $10 because he wouldn’t leave us alone. Honestly super disappointed and never had that happen to me in my life at a restaurant. EXTREMELY RUDE...
