This Bonchon location is extremely concerning. Please read until the end, it includes information from a Department of Health inspection that was done last month. I recently placed an order through DoorDash. Upon opening my order, I immediately noticed that 1 item was not what I ordered, and another item was only ¼ of the quantity it should be. We didn’t think anything of it and began eating. As I was eating my taco, I felt a sharp pain in my teeth and spit the food out. There was a large metal staple in the food that I chewed on. I immediately called the store to warn them in case there were more to prevent other people from possibly getting injured. The man I spoke to, Ronald, told me that they use staples to staple bags for online orders, so that’s how it got there. Midway through my response, he angrily said he was placing me on hold. When he returned, I told him that the staple was inside the taco; therefore, it came from the kitchen. He sounded very annoyed and said, “that’s not possible. We don’t use staples in the kitchen.” Then rudely said, “so what do you want from us?” I asked him if this was a joke and told him that I even had an incorrect order a few months prior as well, which they never got back to me about. At that time, I was told that I’d receive a refund and discount on a future order, neither which happened. I never followed up on that. I’m shocked at how this business is being run. I informed Ronald that my young daughter was also eating the tacos and could not even fathom the idea that she may have swallowed a large staple. I asked him to speak to the manager, and he said the manager was not around. I said to have him call me. He said to hurry up and give him my phone number or else he would put me on hold again. Unsurprisingly, I haven’t heard from anyone. I did, however, look this location up on the Department of Health, and they had very critical ratings just a month ago. Including mice droppings near food, wings not being stored at room temperature after breading, dirty leaf blowers being hung above food, and the...
Read moreI came here the other night just because I noticed that they had pork buns on the menu so I haven't had a good pork bun in a while so I wanted to try them out and see how they were. But when I got in I was greeted nicely at the door. I told him I was going to sit at the bar so that's where I sat. It wasn't crowded at all. It wasn't very busy are they were very attentive. Made sure my glass was always full so that was a positive but I ordered just the pork buns and french fries and yeah they tasted good. I'm fresh but for pork buns three of them and a little bowl of french fries. $20 is too expensive so that's my ripe about it. I do believe they are a little overpriced for what you get, especially since I do believe it's more like a corporate chain so they could come down on the prices a little bit. But once again you know three pork buns and a bowl of french fries shouldn't cost somebody $20 and that's what just regular tap. Water is my drink now. Don't get me wrong. Everything had good flavor. The fries were crispy, hot and fresh so the food was enjoyed but it was kind of mitigated by the fact that the price was too high for what you get. No would I return or suggest other people to go me personally? I wouldn't return unless I was with a group of friends that would like to go, as for offering other people to go there or suggesting other people to go there, I would just let them know that you're going to pay a lot for what you get and it doesn't justify the price. Is the flavor there? Yes, but the portion sizes are too small for the amount of...
Read moreI went to lunch with my brother and it was fantastic! The menu has many options for varied tastes. We went with the intent to get Korean fried chicken, which is double fried to give it an amazing crunch. We each got the mixed wing and drum meals. There are even three sauces to choose from so you can customize how spicy you want your chicken. The soy garlic sauce is to die for. It's reminiscent of teriyaki sauce with its sticky sweetness, and it's not spicy at all. Our wings came out, and they were perfectly cooked and fabulously crunchy. Our waitress said that our drums were still cooking and would be out shortly. What we didn't realize was that when the menu says drums, it means full-size chicken drumsticks! They were huge but also beautifully cooked and delicious. We also got two appetizers since we couldn't decide. We had the Korean street corn and the Bulgogi fries. The bulgogi fries were my favorite. A little bit of heat, but the combination of beef, cheese, and fries was delicious. I liked them so much I'd eat them as a meal alone. The street corn was sweet, crisp, and cheesy. If you like sweet corn, definitely give this one a try. The price is great too! 3 full-size drums and 6 wings with a side of pickled radish (which I also recommend) or coleslaw only came to $16. We both had leftovers, and I placed a to go order for my husband so I wouldn't have to share my leftover chicken. I am already dreaming of going back for the...
