Let me preface my review by stating that after living in Texas for 12 years, my bar for BBQ is pretty high. Also, because of the Superbowl, I heard them say that most stuff was sold out. However, we were able to order brisket both from the lean and moist side, pulled pork, potato salad, and the mac and cheese.

I felt like the lean was a little"pot roasty", but still good nonetheless. If ordering brisket here, I highly recommend requesting the moist side as it was way better. The pulled pork was pretty solid and the sauce I had with it, which I assume was their house sauce based off the label, had really good flavor.

The sides are where I'm going to have to mark them down. Definitely a different style of mac and cheese with some breading in it, but it seemed a little soggy and lacked in cheesiness. The potato salad seemed like it may have been from a frozen cubed bag of potatoes and were a little bland. Pretty overbearing on the pickle flavor as well which I understand could just be a preference thing. Regardless, this is the best BBQ my wife and I have had in Southern Utah.

I don't say any of this to be overly critical. I just have an understanding of how important good BBQ is and how much Southern Utah needs this. There were plenty of people there and you could tell they were amped to be there. BBQ is definitely a communal experience and it was good to see the excitement in full force.

The staff was super friendly and the location was fantastic. It scratched my BBQ itch and I will definitely return so I can try some of their other menu items. We got there around 5:30, and I'm not sure if selling out is the norm here, so we'll have to venture out a little earlier next time. I do see potential here and I may update my score based on...

WARNING! If you are over settling for discouraging dining out options, and give these folks a try, YOU WILL GET HOOKED.

Seriously, the best BBQ you will find in Southern Utah. Here's why: they perfected their craft for eight years before opening this brick-and-mortar location a little over a year ago.

We were passing through town and discovered them after seeing five-star reviews on Google Maps. We tried them, and now we wish we lived much closer.

We will schedule our future drives through Parowan to arrive when they open for lunch.

My wife tried the brisket with a side of coleslaw, and it got her approval. I had the brisket salad, you know—trying to enjoy good things with less regret—and it was the best brisket salad I've ever had. I modified it to hold peppers, tortilla strips, and cheese, then used their High Voltage BBQ as my dressing.

I will now have dreams and fond memories of how good it was.

The staff is super friendly, too.

Trust us, this place is a keeper.

One thing I wish they had on the menu...Beef Ribs. Adding beef ribs is the only thing that would elevate the high-voltage quality.

UPDATE: They will soon have Coke fountain drinks in place, which will help them avoid running out any longer — the other vendor was subpar.

Our favorite side is their mac n cheese.

The order of our favorites for their BBQ sauce options is: High Voltage BBQ (sweetish) Zesty Good Sauce (delish mustard like sauce) Apple Jalapeno (great flavor,...

Great experience here! Family owned, and they put their heart and soul into the food. The hours are a little wonky and they do sell out quickly, so if they are open, get there quick!

I had the wings, brisket, fries, and coleslaw.

Wings were smoked and then fried I think. Super crispy but you could still see the smoke ring on the meat. Highly recommend these with their Sweet and Spicy sauce. I tried the garlic parmesean dry rub and it was so-so. I heard the salt and vinegar dry rub is good. They do have sauces at each table (Hey Girl Hey sauce, and then a house BBQ), so it was still good since there was some other sauces to dip into. The Gold sauce is FIRE! So good! I did a half mix of that with a half mix of the Jalapeño Apple BBQ and that was a perfect tangy and sweet mix.

The brisket was really good. I'm not a huge brisket fan but that is supposedly what they are known for and have won awards for as well.

The fries are waffle fries and were very tasty! I was especially happy to see their coleslaw was more than just the basic typical cabbage and mayo. They have a nice mix with some other vegetables and the sauce isn't too heavy on the mayo. It's a good neutral slaw that adds and compliments the bbq and sauces.

All in all, I was super satisfied and will definitely be back to try some of their sandwiches and other sides!...

As a native Houstonian, I have never been able to find BBQ in Utah that is "Texas-Passable", so naturally I was skeptical to try this place out. The legit offset smokers in the photos are what made me decide to give it a shot. As I took the first bite of my brisket (I always no-sauce the first bite to see if the meat can stand on its own), I couldn't understand what was happening! It took several moments for the confusion to wear off after being flavor-punched in the face. Once I came to, I realized, not only was it Texas-Passable, it was Texas-Exceptional! They have several sauce options, but their house-made sauce stands above the rest, and is outstanding. I was served from the point (moist), which is the best part of a brisket. It was perfectly marbled. Much higher quality brisket than the Costco prime I smoke at home. A delicious crust/rub that had something unique in it I couldn't place, but highly enjoyed. The fat was so perfectly rendered I couldn't believe it. Overall, the brisket was perfectly moist, super tender, and extremely flavorful. My favorite BBQ place of all time is Killen's in South Houston, and High Voltage BBQ is as good, or maybe even better than Killen's on a good day. The search is over folks, exceptional brisket does exist in Utah. Don't drive past Parowan without making this stop!
