Another new restaurant to try out in Parsippany. Located in the Tabor Strip Mall on Route 53 (Tabor Pizza - everyone knows Tabor Pizza) Ai Sakae opened its doors this weekend. I happened to be driving by and said to myself is that a new restaurant, and low and behold it was. Self named as an Asian Cuisine restaurant, I was rather impressed with the multiple varites that are offered on the menu Such cuisines include Sushi, Sashimi, Thai, Chinese, and Japanese selections can be found on the menu. This may come I'm handy for a one stop meal spot vs. driving around trying to appease everyone. With the light dusting of snow, the chill in the air made for a perfect soup day and the chicken udon soup hit the spot. Takeout soup of this caliber is never the same as being served fresh in the restaurant. The broth was packaged in a separate container to make for a better soup when you get home. The udon and chicken were mixed thoroughly so the 1st serving of soup is just not chicken and your final serving is all just noodles. The udon soup was very tasty and with the cold weather ahead, I'm sure I'll be back for more. With the variety in menu options, I was able to switch it up a bit and picked from the Thai menu which led me to pick the chicken pad Thai. When placing the order for this, I was warned about the spice level, but that didn't phase me one bit. The pad Thai was delicious I can defiantly see myself duplictaring this meal. Defiantly more than enough food to get more than one meal out of it. Ordering was super easy on the phone and the food was ready as promised. Food wait time was less than 20 minutes. Like any new restaurant, there are minor glitches and the online ordering portal was not working at the time, but I usually prefer to order on the phone anyway. For its opening weekend, the dining room had several guests dinning and looked around, the food looked amazing. I'm not much of a sushi person, but the menu looks pretty good if I was hankering for some sushi, I'd give it a try. It's always great to see new restaurants opening up in Parsippany. Congratulations to Ai Sakae on opening its doors to this community(in speaking with the staff, this has been a long struggle to open taking about a year) Based on my takeout experience, I would definitely go back again and recommend others to try it out. With their menu portal acting up, I added the menu to plan out...

Read morePresentation: when we first walked into the restaurant, there was hologram of the restaurant logo in the front. I thought it was something unique, and something i didn’t really expect from this suburban town. Inside the restaurant was cleanly and fine. The bathroom seems modern and clean.
server: he was an middle age asian men who seem like we didn’t speak english very well. He was very polite and patient. I messed up my order he fixed it with a smile and a professional manner.
food: i order eel avocado roll and thai ice tea as my appetizer. the roll was mediocre but the thai ice tea was something i would definitely order again. The thai ice tea tasted like ice tea with a hint of milk, and earthy top notes of bamboo. i got tempura udon and steak/chicken habachi dinner. the tempura and udon was mediocre. something you would expect nothing crazy. They were generous about the portions of the noodles in the udon. the hibachi steak i found pleasing but the chicken was mediocre. wrap it off the food is something you would expect. it checked all the boxes but nothing over the top.
overall the service treated me well and the food did the job and the restaurant was cleanly. however this restaurant is very new. most new restaurants start off strong and their quality goes down over time. hopefully this won’t happen here.
this is my reasoning why i gave this...
