Review: Dhaba Express
If you're searching for an authentic taste of Indian cuisine that transports you straight to the bustling roadside eateries of India, look no further than Dhaba Express. This delightful gem has quickly become my go-to spot for flavorful dishes that burst with tradition and spice.
Ambiance: 4.5/5 Walking into Dhaba Express, you’re greeted by a vibrant and lively atmosphere. The decor captures the essence of a traditional dhaba, with colorful artwork and warm lighting that creates an inviting setting. Whether you're dining in with friends or grabbing a meal to go, the ambiance is both casual and comforting.
Service: 5/5 The service at Dhaba Express is exceptional. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve. They are more than happy to provide recommendations based on your preferences and dietary needs, ensuring that you have a delightful dining experience from start to finish.
Food Quality: 5/5 Now, let's talk about the food! The menu is a treasure trove of Indian classics, and everything I tried was simply outstanding. I started with the Paneer Tikka, which was perfectly marinated and grilled to smoky perfection. The flavors were vibrant, and the dish was served with a tangy mint chutney that complemented it beautifully.
For the main course, I ordered the Butter Chicken and was blown away by its rich, creamy sauce that was bursting with flavor. The chicken was tender and succulent, and it paired perfectly with the warm, fluffy Naan. I also couldn’t resist trying the Biryani, which was aromatic and packed with spices, making it a satisfying and hearty dish.
The highlight of my meal was the Gulab Jamun for dessert. These little dough balls soaked in sugar syrup were the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal—soft, sweet, and utterly indulgent.
Value for Money: 4.5/5 The prices at Dhaba Express are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portions and high-quality ingredients. It’s evident that they prioritize authenticity and flavor without breaking the bank.
Overall Experience: 5/5 Dhaba Express is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. With its inviting atmosphere, attentive service, and mouthwatering dishes, it’s a culinary experience that leaves you wanting more. I can’t recommend it highly enough! Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Indian food or a newcomer looking to explore, Dhaba Express will not disappoint. I can’t wait to return for another round of...
Read moreIt's newly opened in Parsippany. Earlier it was Mirch masala, but that place is completely renovated and opened as Dhaba express. We had our lunch here today (4/5). Unlike the mirch masala, this new restaurant was very clean and hygienic. But area-wise, it's the same ( quite small). This review is based on lunch experience. We got the table quickly. Service was very quick. They took our order and our food was on our table within 10 minutes You ll have 4-5 option in lunch menu from every section (veg-Non veg-Seafood-Biryani) Chines is not included in the lunch menu. We ordered Punjab Murgh Curry and Chicken biryani. All Lunch items come with Daal Makhni-Plain Rice-Vegetable of the day and Naan/roti ( based on your preference).
I was expecting some normal regular typical thali with all the items in it. But I was very impressed with the way they served our food. Separate small cute Utensils was used for each item, despite their portion size. I really liked it. Even the water bottle was cool. Coming to food - Chicken- dal makhani- vegie, rice, Naan- all were delicious, except biryani. It was tasteless. There was no salt at all. I even called our server Yogendra and complained it. I did not want food to be wasted, so I did not ask for a replacement. I used extra salt but biryani was no good at all. I paid at the counter and asked Yogendra to take off biryani from my bill and he happily obliged it.
I even ordered Lamb biryani one night, that time it was very salty. I liked their other entree items though. Going forward, I am not gonna try their rice dishes. I ll stick to their regular items which are...
Read moreThis has to be the best Indian food that we've had so far, and we have tried many places. We started off with samosa's, and although they were smaller than what we are accustomed to, they had a punch of flavor, spicier than most but delectable nonetheless. My husband had the saag paneer - medium, and I tried amritsari wadi aloo - mild. We both shared a side of coconut rice and naan - it was all absolutely delicious. Fresh spices in the coconut rice, which I loved. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options in their menu. I appreciated that they served the food family style. It made it a lot easier to sample each other's meal, which is something that we both enjoy to do. We were too full to eat dessert there but couldn't leave without ordering a kheer to go. I tasted it for review purposes, and although I'm full, I want to continue eating it, lol.
Their service was extraordinaire! Super friendly and attentive - made sure that we had plenty of water in our mason jars along with a clean table and wiped our plates before they were placed.
The only suggestion I can make for such a great place is to take better care of their bathroom and floors. It took away from the atmosphere but definitely not from their great food and service. Aside from that, we will be sure to visit again if we are ever...
