Vero's Restaurant — Restaurant in Pasadena

I ordered a chicken soup. Drove from their place Pasadena to Crescent, and when I got home, the soup was just bland boiled water with no flavor. I called the place and a Jose got on the phone who identified himself as the owner of the place and his best suggestion was to just put salt in it and that should be good to go. In other words just drink salty water. He then suggested, ok, if you don't want to do that, bring drive back, bring it, and he would exchange it for another one. He added, bring me that one that you have, and he would exchange it for another one but not to expect any refund/ reimbursement for the time, gas, or bad experience because he was not here to just be giving his food for free. Although I paid $20.00 dollar.

Vero's is a small rest-stop style diner, with a small front dining area and an outside seating area with a few tables. It's to the left of Orange Grove off of Lake going north in Pasadena. If you blink you could miss it. I enjoy their food very much, and the small seating area lends a small town feel that is quite charming. It's perfect for a good meal with generous potions and a spot to enjoy a couple cups of coffee. It can get packed and the parking is nearly non-existent. If you don't mind parking a little ways off and walking a block or two or around the block then this is perfect. If not I do believe you could order to-go, but personally the atmosphere is something I like quite a bit, even when it's quiet, usually...

Pretty solid place. I have a feeling their breakfast might be where it's at as I often see people outside in the early morning. I was there around lunch time and got an al pastor burrito with sour cream, salsa on the side. It was a pretty dang good burrito. They have excellent mild salsa and a tomatillo salsa that had a nice kick. (I usually get the hottest option at howling rays if that's helpful for spice levels).

I got free chips with my burrito and I will definitely be back. The staff was helpful and polite. My order came out at a good place and was still hot when I got home (about a 10 minute walk). They have some indoor dining space if you're not in a rush to get out the door.
