Mazzio’s Pizza & Wings — Restaurant in Pauls Valley

The great reviews drew us in, but evidently there isn't much to compare to around this area. We ordered a salad bar which was well stocked, but there was nobody in the restaurant at 8:00 PM so hard telling how long the items sat out. My daughter enjoyed her bacon and cheese pizza. My wife and I shared a combo and it was perhaps worse than most frozen pizzas. It tasted microwaved (closest thought I had for the crust and cheese texture). Low grade toppings similar to a typical low cost chain restaurant, but 2x the price. My wife had a small order of boneless chicken wings and she quit eating after she bit into a bone/crunchy tendon. I heard it across the table! The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day, perhaps it wasn't by the laziness of the staff. They were friendly and helpful when ordering, but never once stopped by to see how things were. We struggled to find a clean table and finally wiped one down ourselves. We will not try this place again if ever...

Never greeted. Finally asked the curly hair girl behind the counter if we order there or at the table. Ordered. Never offered a receipt and when i asked for one, the long hair girl didn’t know how....Dining room was occupied by 2 other tables but there were several dirty tables. Curly hair stood in the door to the kitchen flirting and talking with kitchen staff when she wasn’t on her cell phone that was plugged in charging on the front counter. When the phone rang, they let it ring until one of the 2 let out a disgusted sigh and decided to answer. Kitchen staff seemed efficient but front end is definitely lacking. Gloves on the salad bar for customers to use but curly hair girl never used them when building salads for window orders... PS....order was wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️ Looks like will find something else while passing...

With more and more Mazzio’s going out of business, when I saw this one was in operation, I made plans to stop by on my way home from an appointment. It was good to see the buffet was alive and well here. The staff were very nice and friendly. It seemed like they wanted to be there, which makes a huge difference in how they carried themselves while working. The lack of a fifth star is solely due to the lack of variety on the buffet. Everything seemed to be a slight variant of the same thing, and if you didn’t like pepperoni, then the majority of the available pizzas were not for you. All said and done, I will be back, maybe try it later in the day with my wife to order from the menu instead of relying upon the buffet. Side note, salad bar was amazing,...
