I gave one star because we were greeted and seated fast by the host and it was clean. A young girl came and gave us a menu and utensils. Then quickly asked what we wanted to drink. She didn’t give us her name or ask if we had ever been here before. She served us our drink. Then we waited and waited and waited. I placed both menus on top of each other and sat them on the edge of the table. Thinking maybe she would finally come back to see if we were ready to order. Nope still waiting! Finally, an older lady came and asked what we wanted. Still, no name or asked if we had ever been here before. Then we waited and waited and waited. Meanwhile, the young girl the older lady, and a gentleman customer are having a conversation. The younger girl says she can’t wait for this day to be over. The older lady said I felt like that since I woke up. We are still waiting for our food. I told my daughter I was ready to go. So the old lady starts to walk towards the kitchen. My daughter says excuse me and before she finishes her words. She said I going to check on your food. She comes out and tells us it will be a few more minutes. So we wait. Finally, we got our food it had to be 50 minutes from the time we ordered. The older lady didn’t apologize for the wait. Just sat are food down and asked if we wanted Hot sauce or ketchup. I asked for the hot sauce but didn’t get it. Well, the food was bland my daughter and I both reached for the salt and pepper. I ate my crab cakes and left the rest. My daughter had the steak all she ate was the eggs. The steak meal was removed from the bill. My daughter was nice to leave a tip wasn’t much but she left one. Usually, I’ll give a place the benefit of the doubt and try them again. I would never go back there ever if I felt uncomfortable and left Hungry. Sat October 15, 2022,...
Read moreOkay, so Mom and I had to make a trip to nearby Lorraine Fabrics, and this diner just happened to be nearby. Now, I had never heard of this place before the morning of July 1st, but I am happy to announce this place is officially on my radar.
We walked in and sat down at a booth, after which I chose the brioche French toast and a side of bacon for my breakfast. I wound up eating everything on my plate; it was nothing short of delicious. Mom opted for the bagel and lox, which had the smoked salmon, dill, cream cheese and capers, half of which she attacked like a human seagull. The other half was later put on ice and brought home so she could devour the rest later.
I later learned that this is one of five diners in Rhode Island on the National Register of Historic Places, which was an extra treat. I love eating at places that have history, and this is one of them. Delicious food, friendly staff, great service, plus historic landmark status. If you haven't put this diner on your radar, I highly...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I decided to try this diner per the reviews. They gave an alright portion..we both got the exact same thing..corn beef hash, scrambled eggs, home fries and Italian toast..we both got a tea $2.59 for a tea and the cup was so small it was ridiculous..it cost us $43 plus tip..once you get your food, you can forget about seeing your waitress again until you get the bill. he started complaining about a stomach ache about half hour later, I said I'm ok and we ate the exact same thing. Well within a couple hours, I got the most horrible stomach pains and the diarrhea went on most of the day and into the night. I was running back n forth and that was the only food we ate that day. Stay away..overpriced, unfriendly service and we were both very sick from it..it didn't taste bad or we wouldn't have eaten it but something was on the verge of...
