This is a great place to try some great new beers. At least beers that are new to you. I did a couple of flights and tried some IPAs that I never thought I would have liked but ended up loving. There isn't much of an atmosphere - at least there wasn't when I was there, but the beer is still very good. I'd love to see them do a little more with the place to make it more cozy and it also like to see them stay open normal hours into the evening. Maybe they are not allowed to do that based on their liquor license - I have no idea. But the place does close it strangely early hours so make sure they're open before you go. They had a little bit of an attitude when I walked up at about 7:45 and asked her for another flight and she told me that I missed last call. And enough this is a legal requirement with their license then it's simply unacceptable to be turning customers away before you close, or at least not being a tiny bit flexible if someone walks up 2 minutes after the premature last call. That's just a convenience for the employee And if not for legal reasons does nothing for the customer.
The staff knew their beer, that's for sure. And the beer itself was fantastic. I think they're extremely close to having an all-around great place. But only if they're open to making some changes to enhance the customer's experience.
Also, they didn't seem to serve anything really that my non-alcohol drinking friend would have liked to drink. I know there are brewery and all but they absolutely should have soda and other soft drinks for people that don't drink alcohol. It's one thing to be drinking alcohol when your friend isn't. But it's even a bit more awkward to be drinking alcohol when your friend is drinking absolutely nothing because they had nothing they could serve him. A few common sense changes and I think this place would be great.
So it's an odd, but mostly pleasant place. Some of the extremely small staff could use a bit of an attitude adjustment, and maybe some training on how it's the people that are coming in as guests that are creating the profits for the company and paying their salaries. There seem to be a little resentment toward customers for some reason, especially if you didn't subscribe to their predetermined path of having an IPA flight and requested something like a diet Coke or root beer. They gave the impression that your insulting them.
If the next time I go back they aren't a little more friendly, I'll probably knock another star off. As it is I'm only taking off one star because I figured maybe it was just a bad day and I've only...
Read moreWe hosted my daughter's bridal shower at The Guild a few weeks ago & I couldn't have been happier. I had people texting me the following week to thank me for such a wonderful time. Who does that for a bridal shower on a sunny Sunday afternoon? That's how great it was. I first met with Karin to see the venue and she showed me a building called The Barn where most private events are held. Karin was awesome!! She left nothing to my imagination and was very thorough, thoughtful & definitely knows her profession. I have a strong hospitality background so for me to say WOW says a lot as well. The day of our event Mikaela was our event host & Derek our bartender. Both of them were nothing short of amazing and again left nothing to chance. They were there helping with every detail and allowed me to enjoy the party and our guests we decided to hire the services of A Mano Pizza & Gelato truck and again I was extremely impressed with their professional manner along with the amazing pizzas they cooked right there on site. We had the outdoor patio area to play Cornhole and all in all the day was a perfect 10! I am so grateful to the staff at The Guild but especially Karin, Mikaela & Derek. I would recommend this place for your special event. In fact as we were setting up for our shower the previous night there was a wedding in The Barn and the bride, groom and family members were there gathering things they'd left behind while we were setting up and they too were raving about how wonderful their wedding was the night before. I have no doubt. Thank you to everyone at The Guild for making our bridal shower such...
Read moreI would have given ZERO stars if allowed. I was there this past Sunday for a poker run honoring my mother who passed away a year ago from cancer.
We brought 20+ people to an establishment that was DEAD at the time.
One of the bartenders was fine. The other one was AWFUL, she was rude to people in my party and also threatened to kick me out because my toddler made it TWO steps into the “kitchen” area before I could grab him. TWO STEPS. She made rude comments stating “you really need to watch your kid” and “you don’t want me to have to kick you out”. Mind you, 20+ adults were watching my toddler. He wasn’t left unattended for even a second the entire time we were in there.
I told my husband and father in law what had happened and we decided to end our run at this stop earlier due to the way we were being treated. The Guild missed out on 20+ people getting another round all because the bartender didn’t know how to talk to people. The true definition of unprofessional.
While my father in law was paying the tab the rude bartender then decided to record him “for the owner” but also recorded my husband and my toddler in the same video. It’s wildly suspicious to record SOMEONE ELSES toddler for your own personal use.
Overall I wouldn’t recommend The Guild to my worst enemy. Breweries are supposed to be “kid friendly” and The Guild isn’t friendly at...
