My experience was definitely not a good one. I deliver food for uber eats/grubhub etc. and have previously picked up orders from this restaurant with no issues whatsoever. However, during this one experience I had the displeasure of dealing with an INCREDIBLY RUDE member of the staff. Upon entering the restaurant this person asked -“uber?”, after all I told him that I was, he told me that the food wasn’t ready yet and to wait “over there”. To give you an idea of the layout if you haven’t been - “over there” was a small cubicle area near the entrance door, the size of a very small closet. Keeping in mind this is a old fashioned type diner with bar stool seating, there where about a dozen empty open stools, and only four customers in the restaurant. Since there was PLENTY of seating I asked if it would be okay if I sat while I waited. I have previously done this at this SAME establishment with no one batting an eyelash or being uptight about it. I’m very respectful and never leave a mess. Nor am I unreasonable, and would never even ask if I saw that it was busy - it wasn’t. He actually responded to me “NO, these seats are for customers, the Uber drivers wait over there”. In addition to being unbelievably rude and unwelcoming, it felt like some kind of crazy old timely racism that I’m shocked to see unfold in as diverse a community as Downtown Peabody. The people who deliver food FOR you are unworthy of even entering the restaurant??? In a SLOW, way more than half empty dining area, if I’m not good enough to sit at the counter, why would I ever recommend your restaurant??? Or order food from you? Where do you think you are? The pre-civil rights era south? GOOD RIDDANCE!...

Penny Cluse Cafe in Burlington Vermont was the best breakfast I've ever had. Today that changed. This is a small 12 seat diner but delivers big. I had the pastrami benedict. The pastrami was grilled on two oversized English muffins with two eggs, holondaise sauce and home fries. What a treat that was. The pastrami was perfect the eggs cooked just right and the sauce was fresh. The home fries were spiced right. The coffee was really good. I had three or four cups. The combination of all this with the blues music and the place itself was a wonderful experience. My wife had the Greek omlette with beans. I tasted the beans they were very well cooked. She liked the omlette and beans very much. It had baby spinach, feta cheese and tomato. The two ladies working there were very nice and eager to help. Thank you for...

I ordered from here through uber eats and although delivery was fast, what I had was definitely not worth $23. It was disgusting. Cold eggs and meat and the “home fries” were tiny burnt and undercooked cubes and shards of potato. I don’t get how can you can both burn and undercook potatoes and put them in the same plate. They were so burnt to a crisp that it made a hole in the Styrofoam plate. I also asked for utensils and they were not included. I called to ask if they would re-deliver & although I understand I have to go through uber eats for it, the person on the phone said they “have no control over the temperature in the delivery vehicle or how long it takes for them to deliver”. No car is going to burn and undercook home fries inside a plate. Beyond disappointed in the quality & service...

What’s not to love about a classic, street car diner with my favorite 80s & early 90s rock & metal bands’ posters & merch all over the walls (Guns n Roses, Motley Crew, and even Skid Row!). The food is big portioned, hearty and delicious. Bread is made on the premises (or it tastes like it is). And do not miss the Hungarian sausage regardless of what you order. Things to know before you go: there’s only counter space, no tables (as it should be); there is no bathroom for customers (but there are plenty of shops nearby); it’s cash only (atm is on the premises). Love this place, I go every weekend when I’m in the area!
