A long but worthwhile review if you’re even considering this company. I was introduced to Nutre Meals a little over a year ago. At this time I was a doctorate student finishing up my physical therapy degree. I was living on my own in an apartment trying to keep my head above water with rent, my education, and my mental health, all while training for my first NPC bikini competition. The gentleman that run this company approached me and asked if I would be interested in working with them. I had been approached by several companies to collaborate with them, and I have refused all opportunities up until this point. The way I was approached by Nutre was genuine, heartfelt, and welcoming. Instead of filling out the stereo typical online form and application, Angelo asked to set up a phone call so we could get to know each other. I was astonished. He told me that he would love to have me on board but only if I completely and utterly believed in the company. He did not want me exaggerating their products or advertising them in a way that I wasn’t completely transparent about, because that is not what his company stood for. I was with Nutre for about a year and let me tell you how much of a difference that made in my every day life! Every Monday I would come home from school with a box of meals at my doorstep ready to go. The meals were delicious, filling, nutritious, and something I looked forward to eating every day. The menu would always have their main staples that I could count on, as well as new exciting options each week that kept me always refreshing the menu and eager to place my next order. If something came up where I wasn’t going to be home or I wanted to change my order within a reasonable amount of time, all I had to do was text/email one of them and the customer service was unmatched. Long story short, this company made my life easy and allowed me to spend less time in the kitchen stressing shopping/meal prep; and instead allowed me to spend more time doing the things I loved and prioritizing my mental health when I needed to the most. When my contract ended with Nutre I was bummed, but that didn’t stop me from ordering their products. My family and friends kept ordering their products and there was always a fridge stocked with meals ready to go. Fast forward to about 7 months of months ago, when my competition season was over and my following on Instagram had drastically decreased. I was MIA from social media and feeling lost because I had no goals to strive for. Nutre reached out to me on one of my worst days simply to tell me that they heard me, they saw me, and that they were THERE for me. Even though I didn’t have nearly as much to offer them with a lower following and no real reason to advertise on social media, they asked if I would hop back on board with them because not only did they want me advertising their products, but they wanted to HELP ME because they had been in my shoes many times throughout their own lives. And it’s encounters like this that speaks volumes to this company. The fact that they are not all about the profit or income but instead the quality of life of their customers is something not many other companies can say, and something that I value and appreciate greatly in Nutre Meals. If you’re considering trying a meal prep company that is affordable, delicious, and only has your best interest at heart, I would strongly strongly STRONGLY suggest giving them a try. Between the discount codes they offer with their affiliates & the affordable menu that changes weekly, I promise you’ll find something you love and you will instantly be hooked. If you break down the cost of the meals to what you buy on a weekly basis for yourself mixed in with the occasional grabbing lunch out because you didn’t have time to meal prep, it’s a great deal with a great taste that will help you reach your goals in a stress free way!! Real ingredients, real results, and great people!!...
Read moreInitially we were mostly happy with this company. Food was alright, so we were okay with it. People expecting gourmet food clearly don't understand what a service like this is for.
However, our issue was with the customer service. Time and time again we have tried to catch delivery as it was happening to get our meals out of the bag so we wouldn't have to keep it in our home (we have a very small home and not much room to keep their large bags). No matter if we called and asked, or if they sent out notifications (quoted times were always misleading), we would never catch the delivery driver. We both work from home and would keep an eye out during the day. Text messages would say "you are next" at 7:00 AM, only for delivery at 5:30 PM. We've had the inverse happen, too.
We had a major issue with a recent delivery drop off. Since we can never seem to catch the driver during delivery, we had to put the bag in our cramped closet (as we always do). Normally, we are able to keep the freezer packs in the bags for the company to reuse in the future without any issue of leaks. Well, we went in the closet for something several days later and the closet was soaked with liquid from a gel freezer pack in the Nutre bag. This caused damage to our closet and we had to throw out a bunch of items that were damaged by the gel. My wife reached out to Nutre about this issue and they wouldn't even send someone to pick up the bag. No one apologized, offered a discount, or even pretended to care. That's insulting.
The most recent drop off was today's delivery (the one after the issue above). Other than the initial text stating between 2 PM and 4 PM delivery, the delivery came at 4:15 PM. We apparently got an email at 4:11 PM stating "We're on our way". Why wouldn't you make that a text message? Another note is this delivery used different freezer packs and the bag was already drenched inside and outside. Why did anyone think this was acceptable to deliver like this?
My wife reached out about today's issue and she was told by the Nutre rep "I'll call you back". She never got a call back. Someone did eventually come pick up the bag, but that was a mystery to us to as to if anything was going to happen at all.
We've been using Nutre for half a year and previously recommended them to people. At this point, we're tired of the apathy from this company when there are plenty of alternatives to them. It seems now is the time for us to move to Factor. Thanks anyway, Nutre. You could have at least tried.
One last note: They made it incredibly difficult to cancel our subscription and we can't remove our payment information. Totally not sketchy or sleazy.
Response to owner reply: You're right, there were misunderstandings and they could have been easily fixed, but your company did not care despite our patience and good will. We tried multiple times with your customer "care" and got nothing but grief for it. All we needed was "sorry" or something like that at the time, but instead we got "Unfortunately, we can't help-" anytime we asked for assistance with any shortcomings from Nutre. Helping us ONCE would have been a layup and somehow the staff still managed to miss it. It's only fair other people know what they're...
Read moreThis is my 3rd week ordering from nutre. So far I am incredibly happy with the meals and delivery service. Meals come packed with lots of ice packs in a reusable insulated bag that keeps the food cold. The food itself is very good and made from high quality ingredients. Macros (nutrition) are given for each meal and are well balanced (pro/carb/fat). Most of the meals are high in protein and have a good amount of veg. Some higher carb options come with rice, potatoes, pasta, or sweet potatoes… while lower carb options have cauliflower rice or protein/veg only. There is a big variety of different meals to choose from.. steak, ground beef, ground chicken, chick breast, chick thighs, turkey tips, ground turkey, shredded pork, white fish, salmon, shrimp, etc etc… and even breakfast options. So far, I’ve tried the steak tips, chick breast/thighs, turk tips, fish, salmon, shrimp, and ground meat options, and most have been delicious. My one criticism is that I felt some of the meals needed a bit more sauce, however, that is my personal preference. I also like that there is an option to add extra protein to select meals and the increased price is only a few dollars. Minimum order is 5 meals, max amt is 40 per week. The more meals you order, the more discount you receive (up to 20 meals). Example- if you order 5 meals, cost of each “regular” meal will be around $12.99. If you order 20 meals, each “regular” meal will cost $10.99. Certain meals (beef or fish) are considered “premium” meals and add $2-$5 to base price. Meals come fresh and last up to 7 days in fridge or you can freeze them for longer. Meals are fully cooked and only require 2-3 min reheating in microwave. You can skip 1-3 weeks of not ordering or cancel the service with no penalties. Yes, these type of meal delivery services can be pricey, but up to this point, I’ve found it to be worth it. Im disabled and often feel unwell, so the time and energy it saves me from grocery shopping to meal prepping is extremely convenient and nutre meals are far more nutrient dense than frozen dinners from the grocery store. Plus the many options offered, gives me plenty of variety. I have never used any other meal delivery service, so I cannot say whether nutre is better/worse/the same as other companies, but if you have been considering trying one of these services, I would highly recommend giving...
