My friend's and I decided to enjoy our last morning meal in Salem, Massachusetts eating breakfast at the Peabody Diner on 10/10/2022 around 9:30am. We did a search at our hotel (Marriott Peabody) on Google Maps and said that it looked like the best place to go, and we had past it many times on our way back to our hotel each evening.
And let me tell you how much of a wonderful time we had. From the moment we walked in, we were relishing in the aroma of heavenly smells and a family friendly atmosphere. I'm not entirely sure, but it felt like it was a family owned and operated diner. Everyone working there helped serving us. Which was nice to see that comradery and genuine love they all have working there. I loved the style, Halloween decorations, and set-up/layout of the diner. It brought back the feeling of growing up in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and eating at one of our own local diners (The Coffee Cup). You could tell there were regulars that were eating there (or picking up their to-go orders) because the staff new many by their first names as they said their goodbyes. And there were many who ordered and came in to pick-up their food and drinks and head out on their way by foot or by car.
There was so much to choose from on their menu, and honestly I'm certain whatever you choose would exceed your expectations. The price of everything is very reasonable and not overpriced like we noticed at many other food establishments we went too during our Salem (early Halloween Salem Witch) vacation. The portion sizes were huge and 100% fresh and homemade with their own personal touch. We ordered a wide variety of side items so we could share, as well as our main breakfast dish. We didn't order their homemade muffins, but they looked so delicious!!! We should've ordered them to go, as we had a long car ride home back to Pennsylvania. We're planning on going back to Salem next October, and the Peabody Diner is absolutely on our list to go back too. The four of us all agreed in the van prior to leaving the diner, that it was by far the best way to end our vacation! So, if you're looking for a homemade hometown belly full of good food, you absolutely must "dine" here. Thank you Peabody Diner, we'll see you next year! ...
Read moreThis morning, we decided to try a new place for breakfast. We were on our way back to Maine and decided to try The Peabody Diner. It's a small place, almost looks like it was once a corner gas station a long time ago. It was very clean and bright, with customers sitting at simple tables both inside and out, as well as people sitting at the counter. I had the traditional eggs benedict. Very simple, two halves of an English muffin with thin slices of Canadian bacon! Most places I have been to serve thick, round slices I often find to be too salty. Not here. These were thin slices, not salty at all, just enough to add to the flavor of the meal without totally taking over. The eggs were perfectly cooked, perfectly runny. The sauce was so creamy, just the right amount, not too much. There were homemade potatoes on the side, cooked perfectly....I love the crunchy ones that are slightly over-cooked. The staff was friendly and very busy. It would have been nice to be offered a second cup of coffee as we were driving for a few hours after, but we also could see they were very busy, so we didn't want to bother them. My husband had a 3-egg omelet with homemade corned beef hash, which he said was very tasty. The omelet was just the way he liked it, not overly stuffed with filling. It was the perfect place for breakfast on a...
