Okay, I will never give a bad review or slate a business. I'm new to the North Shore and am finding my way to the best businesses and restaurants. So I decided to use the app To Good To Go to test restaurants on the cheap. I saw From Brazil was one of the choices for $6. I was excited to try Brazilian fare as it's not a cuisine I'm familiar with. Pickup time was 11:45-11:55 pm, parking was non-existent. I ended up parking illegally for the few minutes I needed to run in.
The meal I received gave me no more knowledge than I had. There was an extremely large amount of white rice with a poached egg on top. Then two fried potatoes (I think.) I thought they were plantains until I bit into one and faced disappointment. One broccoli floret, five baby potatoes and a spoonful of what looked like fettuccine noodles with some anemic red sauce. The thing that totally confused me was a pile of something that looked like graham cracker crumbs with bits of hard black pieces. I have no idea what it was. I didn't eat it. The black bits were inedible, none of the dishes had any flavor and all of them were starch.
I'm so disappointed. I was very excited to try something new that I had never tried before. I so wanted it to be good and it wasn't. I'm not going to hold it against the service and cooks. There may be another opportunity but...
Read moreThe restaurant was almost empty with only one customer seating. I went in, it was around 4pm, fixed my to go box and headed to the cashier to get churrasco, weigh my food and leave. While there, still no one, no one was taking care of the food, no one to weigh the to go container. Politely I started saying “hello, hello” still no one. The alone costumer seated at the table even made a joke “I guess the food is for free.” He stood up, and came near me so maybe together someone were able to hear us (there was definitely noise from the kitchen). I yelled even more strongly, but still nobody, when the other costumer realized there was a bell behind the counter (there was no sign for the bell). Finally came a guy who was very sorry for the inconvenience. Right after him came a girl claiming she was the manager, Izabella, ordering me to “stop yelling in her establishment!” Right there I saw the human ego-being a manager just for the sake of a title. She was rude, disrespectful, and not there to solve a costumer situation. Only to claim power.
The restaurant had history with my family and I. It was where we ordered food for my baby shower, where I use to take my family when we were missing homemade Brazilian food. Now, not family, neither our friends visit this place anymore. Luckily there are better places around...
Read moreWe went yesterday with a friend around 2 pm. The place looked nice, we went in and got a table. At first nobody explained to us how the system worked, so we asked for 2 sodas and told the same waiter that it was our first time there and had no idea how it worked. She didn’t speak much english or spanish so we had to tell her “ we grab a dish and eat and then pay?” she told us yes and left. 15 min later we filled our dishes and had already started eating when another waiter came to our table and explained that we had 2 options, pay-per-pound or all you can eat, so, because we had already started eating we decided on All you can eat (very pricey, she told us it was 30usd). So they started bringing meat to our table. we finished eating and went to pay. There we realised that the all you can eat was $32.99, the 2 drinks where $5 total and then obligatory 10% gratuity (which was an extra $10). We were going to leave tip until we saw that the total was almost 90 bucks. The amount was surprising since we were 2 but the thing we didn’t like was that, if the first waiter didn’t speak english she should’ve brought someone who did to explain, because the only option they left us was paying the all you can eat. Food was very very good, staff...
