Delicious Food, But the Worst Service I’ve Ever Experienced I was really looking forward to brunching here, especially after hearing good things about the food. And to be fair, the food was delicious—but that’s about the only positive thing I can say about my experience. The service, on the other hand, was beyond unprofessional and downright appalling. Everything took a turn for the worse when I found a long black hair in my meal. Mistakes happen, but what followed was completely unacceptable. When I pointed it out, the server’s reaction was not only unhelpful but also made the situation much worse—she gagged so dramatically that it made me feel even sicker. At that point, I had completely lost my appetite.Rather than handling the situation with any level of professionalism, a host or manager came over and, instead of apologizing, bluntly accused us by saying, “What’s the matter? You don’t want to pay for your food?” That was never even mentioned—we just wanted the issue acknowledged and handled appropriately. It was an incredibly rude and dismissive response. To make matters even more uncomfortable, it felt like the entire staff was staring at us, as if we were the problem for addressing a very real food safety issue. This was a clear violation of health and food safety standards—hair in food is cross-contamination, and their lack of concern for it says a lot about their kitchen practices. After speaking to the manager, I hoped things would be settled, but the same host came back one last time just to be spiteful. She actually told us that we should never go to dinner—as if we were somehow in the wrong for expecting basic cleanliness and respectful service.I have never had such an uncomfortable and unprofessional dining experience in my life. Good food isn’t enough when the service is this bad. I won’t be returning, and I would strongly caution anyone else before choosing to dine here! And yah, border of health should pay them a visit and the management crew should do teaching sessions how the employees should act in...
Read moreWhile running an errand in NH, we were in need of breakfast. This place's parking lot was busy, and reviews seemed decent, so we gave them a shot.
Unfortunately, after a great start with our server, Stephanie, and phenomenal drinks, it went all downhill. We ordered the western omelet and on the menu of specials of the day (they open at 7 and we were in there by 950 AM), hubs opted for the sausage biscuits and gravy. Of note, there were three menus given to us, and all had breakfast items different than the other and was confusing. Anyhoo, after waiting for 20 minutes and watching other tables receive their food before us; Stephanie came to our table to inform us that when she was checking the status of our order, she learned there were no sausage and biscuits! We asked for the menu again, and a very frustrated hubby decided on 2 eggs and bacon. Less than ten minutes later, our order was brought to us by someone, not in uniform, so I am guessing she was management of some sort. She did not acknowledge the error or the wait. As we dug in, because we were starving at this point, we realized the home fries were burnt and charred, lacking any seasoning or flavor as well. The eggs were well undercooked; he asked for over easy. These were not correct! When Stephanie checked on us again, I let her see the problems and asked that she remove the plates. We left very dissatisfied with our time at Red's and will not be returning.
This is in no way Stephanie's fault; she was great. But the kitchen failed epically, and management missed a huge opportunity to make things right, if not a bit better....
Read moreI've been to Reds more times than I can count and the food is always delicious and the service acceptable. This past Sunday I sat in the cafeteria style seating and I knew what I wanted to eat before seeing a menu. The waitress came over and was polite. She asked for my drink order. When I mentioned I knew what I wanted, she dismissed me and said drinks only for now. Not ideal but I didn't mind. After waiting 15 minutes and another patron sitting down after me and taking his drink and food order I politely asked if I could put in my food, which she did.
I waited over 30 minutes and my food still wasn't ready. Which on a busy Sunday I completely understood. What perturbed me was people who sat down after me where well into their meal and mine was nowhere to be seen. Finally, after another order was brought out and the servers couldn't figure out whose it was, it was determined that they gave my ham and cheese omelet to someone else who unknowingly began eating it.
So after being there for over 45 and having them have to put my food order in again, I decided to leave and not deal with it any further.
This is unlike any other time at Reds and I'm disappointed. The waitress was struggling mightily and even at one point asked two new patrons who occupied seats just vacated with food still on the counter, if they wanted to wrap their food up. Needless to say they were confused mightily.
Again, the food has been superb in prior visits. But like most current dining experiences, suffers from difficulties with staffing and...
