I went to a going away party at the original Pearland location. It was 12 diners, so it would be considered a large party. The decor is festive and on brand for the Gringo’s franchise and most Mexican restaurants in the Houston area. All of the dining rooms were open, which makes for a very loud atmosphere. We were seated at the table right next to the kitchen, that has a serving shelf right next to the dining room. Literally, I could not hear someone speaking loudly to me from across the table. The food was not bad, but none of the dishes were stand out in the vast sea of Mexican restaurants. The one thing that Gringo’s does well, in my humble opinion, is the creamy avocado sauce for the chips. Service was good and our server even accommodated our request for separate checks. A gratuity was added to our checks because of the large party. Parking is easy with the large, free parking lot, but the restaurant is popular. Be prepared for a wait time and they will not seat your party until a certain percentage of them are present. In summary, not a bad restaurant, but there is nothing new or exciting in the land of Mexican food at this establishment. It is tried and true Tex-Mex classics.

Great service 👏 but the food 👎and for the prices. Basically was served vomit. I was disappointed 😞 in the food. Update: We ordered Fried tilapia($19.99), fajita bowl($13.95), and kids mac'n cheese($6.95). We visited for my son's 10th birthday. Fried Tilapia over cooked with same distasteful sauce from last time. If I knew it had that sauce I would have ask for no sauce. I had the Fajita bowl with smoochie rice, fairly any fajita and a whole bunch of cheese. We had a few bites and we decided it's not for us. The mac'n cheese my 3 year old ate. They removed the items not eaten and no we didn't take anything home. The plates were full of the food. Total was $10.08. I provided them the gift card mailed of $25 and left. Didn't ask for the card back. Just don't see us visiting in near future. It's not the service.. our server Jordie was very nice and manager but the food is over priced and distasteful.

This is the place for Mexican/Tex-Mex in Pearland, Texas! My wife and I order to go here at least once a month. I typically have the Chicken Enchiladas with cream sauce while she enjoys a variety of items and LOVES the shrimp tacos. I’m also a fan of the Presidente combo meal though it really can be too much food – but sometimes, you have to splurge. The quesadillas are also a favorite as the chicken is always so tender and juicy. And the meals are perfect in portion size. Of course, you can’t forget the salsa – so good that we order a pint to eat later in the week. The food is always good and it’s usually ready when I arrive for pick-up. What is also fun is a few of the to go people there know our “usual” when we call in. Definitely perfect for a family night out, or like with us, a delicious meal in.

I've visited this restaurant many times, but never had i received such poor service as a have tonight. My husband an i came in a bit late 915 PM and sat at the bar. From the moment we sat down, the kid at the bar did not seemed pleased. First thing he did before asking us if we wanted chips and salsa, was check his watch making us feel like we put him out since it was getting close to closing. Kat took our drink order and was pleasant. We ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. When he brought the chips and salsa over, he put them down pretty roughly almost spilling it. He didn't acknowledge us after that at all forcing us to ask Kat to help us place the food order. After out dinner, my husband asked for a shot. The same kid , then asked if he wanted it straight up or chilled, when we said chilled, he made a snide comment under his breath and then laughed. When he brought it over he said to my husband, "here's your lady drink " and waked off. I don't know if he was thinking he was being funny or clever but it didnt sit well with us. I think his rude comments and behavior were uncalled for. There were several people un the restaurant dining with their families and several couples at the bar where we were sitting as well. He didn't seemed bothered by any of the othere patrons so I couldn't figure out why we got this kind of service and rudness. I noticed he wasn't wearing a name badge like the other employees and should have asked for his name, but the employees who worked that shift and bar know who he is. Ive worked in hospitality and customer service for over 20 years and I know enough to know you treat every customer with courtesy and respect no matter the situation. This was NOT the case..I hope no one else encounters this rudness from this person. Longstory short, I don't think I'll be visiting this restaurant for a while even though it is in my neighborhood. I'd rather pay a little more for better customer...

Update 9/30/2024: I am absolutely thrilled to have been reunited with my all-time favorite server, Helen, now working at Gringo's in Pearland! I used to always request to sit in her section when she worked at Jimmy Changas, and I was genuinely saddened when I found out she was no longer there. Helen is one of those rare individuals who can turn a simple dining experience into something truly special.

Today, when I walked into Gringo’s and saw that Helen was part of the team, I was overjoyed! It felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Her service is second to none. Helen consistently goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcomed, cared for, and appreciated. She has a remarkable ability to balance professionalism with genuine warmth and friendliness, which makes every meal a joy.

Her attention to detail is impeccable—whether it's ensuring that every part of our order is correct or offering thoughtful suggestions from the menu. She’s attentive without being overbearing, and somehow always knows when you need something before you even ask. Her smile and positive energy light up the room, and it’s clear that she takes great pride in making sure her guests have the best possible experience.

It’s safe to say that I will be requesting Helen every time I visit Gringo’s from now on. If you’re lucky enough to be seated in her section, you’re in for a fantastic dining experience. I can't recommend her highly enough! Thank you, Helen, for your incredible service and for making my visits so memorable—so glad to have...

I wish I could give 10 stars for my experience here on Tuesday, February 27th. We have been to Gringo's many times and it has always been great but this day was different for us and the staff here went above and beyond and showing us how much they care about their customers and just people in general. Someone in a motorized wheelchair carelessly ran over my 4 year old daughter's foot and then stopped on top of it. They would not move, and I was desperately trying to get her foot out but was unable to and started to panic as it was being crushed. A wonderful good samaritan came and helped me lift it up so I could get her foot out. One of the staff members got me a large bag of ice to put on it. In my panic, I only got to say a quick thank you to the man and once I calmed down I wanted to find him, thank him and pay for his meal. Unfortunately he was not there anymore. I talked to a woman who I believe may have been the manager and she was so sweet and kind and went to try to find him on their cameras. She was able to find him but he had left right after. In addition to this, the wonderful chef in the back came out to make sure my meal would be free of all the food intolerances I had which are quite a few. They double-checked and he even asked me afterwards how my meal was. I cannot say enough about the incredible staff here and if you are that good samaritan who helped us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without you my daughter may have had to go to the hospital that night instead of enjoying a night out with...
