First time trying tonight. Looked at the menu and wanted to give it a fair chance so I ordered a cheeseburger, catfish sandwich and fries. I wanted to get a variety that they offered. Fries were normal crinkle cut fries. They were crispy and not soggy. So I have nothing bad to say about them. The cheeseburger was good size for 1/3 pound. I got tomatoes, lettuce, and onion on it. The tomato was 70 cents more which I wasn’t aware of but it’s understandable since a lot of places charge for tomatoes. I did like that two slices were on the sandwich and not just one tiny tomato. So I felt the 70 cent up charge was worth it. Good flavor was cooked really well not dry at all. Also wasn’t super greasy. So the bun wasn’t soggy and held everything together nicely. Didn’t put any sauce on it and was glad because the other toppings were fresh would definitely get it again the same way. The final thing I ordered was the catfish sandwich. To be honest I thought it was going to be the downfall of the meal. The last time I ordered catfish was from a different local diner. That diner definitely didn’t clean the catfish and it was really nasty and overcooked. I actually have not returned there since that meal. So when I saw this diner offered a catfish sandwich I wanted to see if it held up any better then the other diner. The sandwich is a full catfish fillet. I left this one plain because I wanted to see if it had that nasty taste as well as the last place. It was crispy super hot which was a plus so it’s cooked fresh and not sitting under a warmer or precooked. The best part was the taste it didn’t have the nasty taste the other diners catfish had. It wasn’t overcooked. I was really pleased with the food that I received. They have fresh toppings, good selection on the menu and the fish sandwich is really good. Will be returning here again. The only regret I have is that I didn’t try this place sooner. I know you can’t get it right 100% of the time. However when it’s due a good review helps a lot. Most will only review the one time it’s not. My experience was better then I thought it was going to be being a smaller local diner. In my opinion it was better then a lot of big name places that offer...

Your stomach must have vacancy to visit Our Inn Place.
After an afternoon exploring Pekin with my dad, we needed some food. He didn’t care where we stopped to eat but I figured it would be a good time to try something specific to the area. I happened to remember this specific place from driving by it quite a few times when one of my friends lived in Pekin. What a perfect opportunity to check it out.
We rolled up to a small building that had a bit of a diner look to it. The parking lot was mostly empty and made up of crushed rock if I remember right. Once parked, we headed in. Looks can be deceiving, let me tell you what. This place was rather large and open on the inside. It was a blend of a diner and an ice cream shack. I’m honestly not sure which of the two it is. Maybe both?
The young man behind the counter took our order and we took a seat to wait for our food to come out. To be honest, I don’t remember what either of us ordered. I want to say we both got tenderloins but that’s not a guarantee. It does seem like the kind of thing I would order at a place like Our Inn Place.
I do remember the food being pretty good despite not remembering what it was. The lack of photos doesn’t help this situation either. I don’t want to say my expectations were low but word-of-mouth about this place was nearly nonexistent among my circles of friends and the lack of people eating inside was in its favor. But yeah, a total surprise on being tasty.
The location of Our Inn Place is a bit odd. It seems to be smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood. They probably get a lot of foot traffic of people living nearby stopping in for lunch or dinner. I know I would be stopping in often if I lived nearby. Maybe then I can remember...
Read moreI was devastated when I saw that Cotton Candy Ice-cream had gone away last time I came by. Since February I tried to find a replacement for my favorite ice-cream but alas... nothing could replace the sweet artificial flavor of the Cotton Candy Ice-cream. So I left a review in hopes my pleas would be heard by the Our Inn Place Gods.
Then... a miracle happened.
Last night I had been craving my most beloved treat in the world, wishing and praying for something... anything. Out of curiosity, or maybe perhaps it was intuition, I went to google to look and mourn over my beloved ice-cream and noticed something strange. The google menu... it showed Cotton Candy Ice-cream. In my confusion, I quickly went to the website and saw the website had it there too! I looked at the time and saw they had already closed. I made a promise that the next day I would go and get that ice-cream.
The next morning came. I woke up and immediately thought about my reunion with the Cotton Candy Ice-cream. I spent my day anxious waiting to get off work and check to see it in person. I finally arrive and I ask the man in the drive through if they really brought it back, and low and behold... THEY DID!
So now, dear reader, I sit here eating my Cotton Candy Ice-cream. After my long and depressing separation and the struggles I have faced to get to this point. I finally can say I am happy.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. 💙🩷
