Yesterday's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Pekin

Literally nothing my companion or I had was more than passably edible, including the water. At first I thought it was flavored but quickly realized it tasted like cleaning solution. When we asked for new glasses of water, the owner came over and insisted there was nothing wrong with the water and was rather nasty about it. I mean, it's tap water, not like they lost money on it. The burger I ordered was more of a ball than a patty, and still dry throughout. The flavor was okay, but the meat/bread ratio was extreme one way and then the other due to the odd shape. My friend's steak was very fatty and overcooked. The side of a baked potato oddly had some"thing" green and leafy inside it, like they used a dirty knife to cut the potato. Difficult to believe they wouldn't have seen a 2-inch piece of vegetable(?) on the knife though. My friend asked for butter and received a pile of little cafeteria-type butter packets, most of them already open because of how oily they were. When the bill came, it had two extra charges on it; one for an additional tax that the waitress couldn't explain, and the other was a credit card processing fee. I understand this charge is becoming more common, but it was on the bill before they knew how we were paying (cash) and because the overall experience was so negative, my friend couldn't help but wonder if it would've been removed if we hadn't specifically asked about the additional fee. One star for the very pleasant waitress. Even she seemed taken aback at how snotty the owner got with us over the water, and seemed appropriately embarrassed over the nasty butter even though we didn't say anything about it. Very mixed about my first experience at Yesterday's. Giving a pass on service, waiter was first day and just helping out. Seems to be staffing issues to not have anyone to work on a Saturday at lunch. Stopped in for brunch, mostly had breakfast items and the shammy hamburger. Daughter 1 order the waffle and said it was good, bacon was good. Small waffle though, not worth $16 for a waffle and a couple pieces of bacon. Daughter 2 pancakes, again $16 for 3 small pancakes and bacon not worth it. Pancakes tasted under cooked and like batter. Like griddle was too high, fried the outside and did not cook inside enough. I had the Schammy burger. Ordered medium, was a little under cooked and could probably invest in a burger press so not to have a meatball for a burger. Rather it under cooked a little than over cooked and dry. Burger was under seasoned but with some much other stuff on it, just made the burger soggy and fell apart . Onions were burnt and overwhelming. Fries were very good. Soda i ordered had to go back, no carbonation and all syrup. Water glass seemed to jot be clean and daughter 2 kept saying her glass tasted strange on the rim. Bathrooms need some remodeling. Daughter said women's room floors were sticky and felt like the tiles were broke under foot. Overall, over priced for what we got. $70 for 3 people for what we had was over priced. I don't normally leave bad reviews. We ordered food and didn't receive it until an hour later. Six of us went here to celebrate my brothers birthday. The French onion soup is not sweet, it's incredibly bitter almost like a vinegar soup. My brother is not picky, quite the opposite and he struggled to eat the burger as the bun on it was rock solid. The bun on my chicken sandwich was also rock solid and the chicken was way overdone and stringy dry. All of us were disappointed with the food. The only thing that wasn't terrible was dessert, wasn't great either though. (We tried them all). Even though the place closes at 8pm, they told us they were deciding to close early at 7pm as we finished eating, so we got up and left before we really sat and visited.
