18-Dec-2023 You should know before you read my review that on this day we were at the tail end of a nor'easter with wind blowing and rain pouring from the sky.
Got to the Pelham, NH location and decided to take advantage of the McDonald's app to get a good deal or save a few dollars. Pulled into a parking space and ordered food online to be picked up at the drive-thru. No problem so far right? Keep reading.
A car just coming in pulled into the drive-thru and so I pulled behind it. They ordered at the speaker and then pulled forward a little bit, just enough for me to get to the speaker. I gave the drive through associate my online order and they told me to drive on through. But I couldn't. There were five cars in front of me.
20 or more some odd minutes later then I finally made it up to the window where my food was sitting on the table in an open bag.
My mother worked at McDonald's for 16+ years when I was a kid and I worked there for some time, too. I know how their drive-thru is supposed to work.
If you don't already know, the drive-thru has a timer to ensure that the drive-thru fulfills the meaning of "fast food" without making the customer wait any longer than they should. I believe it is 1.5 minutes, but it is certainly not 5 minutes per vehicle.
Also I wonder how long my food had been sitting there? In an open bag that is supposed to be closed??
No blame to the drive-thru cashier because she was as polite as she could be. However, it's up to the manager to have the "fast food" ready to go for every customer who drives through. And for anyone who has a special order then they should be waved forward or into a parking space so that others in the back of that car can get their food and get on their way. It may be McDonald's didn't want their employees to get wet but that's what drive-thru signed up for. It's called fast food for a reason.
Instead I'm waiting in the drive-thru line for 20 some odd minutes for food that I should have gotten in 2 minutes or less.
Very...
Read moreThe 1/4 pounders and specialty burgers actually taste better since MacDonald's changed from meat that may have been frozen since your birth to what they say is "fresh".
Glad to see they're at least trying to focus on quality a bit more, mostly because I'm lazy - I'd have to drive to another town to get a burger from one of those fancy burger places.
I felt the need to edit this review today (Feb. 2019) because I made no mention about the staff at this specific McDonald's location.
Because it's very close to where I work, I stop by this McDonalds a couple times a day for coffee. Sometimes, as unhealthy as I know what I order is, I can't resist getting a cheeseburger and fries even when I've tried to pound into my head that I'm getting a salad before reaching the microphone. Then, some kind of Pavlovian response overwhelms my wish not to die from a heart attack and I hear the words, "1/4 pounder with cheese & medium fries, please." come out of my mouth, while the words, "Get a salad, stupid." rattle around my apparently zombified mind.
Regardless of what I order, with the exception of one former employee, I've always been served by people who manage to be friendly and helpful to me in spite of the hectic, pressure filled atmosphere they work in. So, I give the local...
Read moreWe went to this location in the drive through and this lady started to speak. We had 4 kids in the back excited to get their treats and meals. The lady taking our order was extremely rude to our eldest saying the order, and even knew that there were kids. Also, even though we had kids it was quiet, but the lady was saying its too loud, to clam down, and even said showed us attitude and we never got that good service, then we went to the window and it was a long wait until a girl named Amanda opened the window and we asked to talk to the lady who was speaking with us in the speaker taking our order, but she said she didn't know and didn't bother to even look and tell us who it was. Then we wanted to talk to the manager and he came, and he was also extremely rude. We were telling them everything and they kept saying: Okay, and didn't even care about the problem. Ok the side, that Amanda girl was trying to argue with us. We have been working at fast food for the past 17 years as management team and that was unacceptable. The manager pushed Amanda away and told us sorry in a sarcastic attitude and gave us the food. Everyone was upset, and the kids were excited but then their moods were ruined. Please teach your employees how to behave in a situation like...
