Jacques Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Pembroke

I heard this pastry shop was the BEST pastry in NH and read their site about making cake in European style. I pick them because I want someone to make this Famous Sachertorte. I email them and found out they can make this!

I do feel their service was professional and understanding.

I did order this thru email and communication with them. I order over 3 weeks early like they told me too and pay. But after I order I found my vacation schedule got postpone. I did call them to cancel and hold my cake order. Then I email back to them I realize I put the wrong month but it was past the date when I email to them. They respond to give me correct date and I respond back to tell them yes.

When I came on the day to get the cake and they weren’t ready. I was so disappointed and I want make a Big Surprise for my mother. They show me the email I saw and didn’t show my respond. But I show my email respond I did and turnout they never got my reply. Took some time to figure out and they offer me other cake on display. Evenly I was thinking other place to get the cake. I pick their raspberry chocolate ( white frosting letter pictured) and it was super delicious. Plus it wasn’t too sweet!! I appreciate they give me discount.

I still kept Sachertorte order and got it in a different day. Oh that was super delicious. Totally worth paying...

The whole tasting process was lovely! We were impressed from the second we walked in, and continue to be impressed as we move forward! We hardly waited for any time before we were seen. The shop looked very neat and clean. The staff was all friendly and we loved that their outfits were all clean and branded, it gave the overall feel a very professional one. The tasting options were great! We LOVED the little containers for each filling and that our host kept asking if there was anything else we wanted to try. We also really appreciated that our host gave us the tasting options, explained them all, and then gave us the privacy to sit and try them on our own before she came back to check on us. We greatly appreciated that privacy!!

Each time I popped by the location to drop things off, the staff was very welcoming and helpful.

On our big day, the cake looked so lovely! They absolutely nailed our overall vision! They were also so willing to add in the book page flowers that a friend made for us. The only bummer was that we had requested to have a little Deadpool peeking out from under the cake, and that bit...

Summary: Bad customer service, bad tasting cake and messed up the color / design of our wedding cake.

We purchased a vendor package through our wedding venue and Jacque's was the only cake vendor on there. We assumed that would be fine because we weren't that particular on our cake. They were supposed to reach out to us to setup a tasting but they never did, so we reached out manually to set it up.

At the tasting we didn't like any of the cake flavors, and it was quite expensive to add fillings. We tried to switch vendors but unfortunately due to our vendor package we were locked in with them. The cake itself was very bland and the frosting tasted like straight up butter. Maybe some people like this style of cake but we did not.

Additionally they delivered the wrong color / design cake on our wedding day. So they failed on customer service, taste and quality control and for that I give them 1 star.

In general you could give me any cake and i'll like it, this was the first cake i've had in my life that I didn't enjoy. A Market Basket, Costco, Hannaford or box cake tastes better than what...
