A bad meal at my home is always better than what this restaurant served us! I anticipated a good meal after reading the reviews but should have known that TRINITY, our server, may have lied when I asked her if the specials’ Fried haddock was fresh, hand breaded? I mean for $20? It’s not nice to lie, trinity! I really wanted a burger but she shared that they no longer serve fresh cut fries and so, I pivoted to an entree. Ok, Saturday @ 4 pm: my husband ordered the SPECIALS Butter Steak, Brussels sprouts and baked potato. The contents were all brown, he couldn’t even distinguish between the glob of steak and the Brussels which were accompanied by a left over, barely warm, starched baked potato!!!!! See photos. Disgusting ,he cut into his steak and it was recooked as evident by the GREY middle meat that was exposed. $22.49 because the lobster bisque starts in a poly bag and is standard issue throughout restaurants from the purveyor. Sad but true! My haddock was so deep fried, out of a frozen food box as both ends were super hard and inside fish was hardly haddock. More like whiting or pollock. When a person pays for food, it should be exceptional. But that kitchen can offer up surprises that only cook and server know.

For perspective I have been a regular here for years, did takeout and delivery during 2020 and now we’re back in person. Last night we came in and was met with salty vibes and apathy from our server, felt like we were inconveniencing her. Rushed to order and our food came out quickly. My spouse’s wings were perfect as always. My fish and chips was another story. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than ever before! Fish, curtesy of the Gorton’s Fisherman, overcooked, tasteless, dry. Chips, used to be battered crispy and delicious, tonight, obviously from frozen, soggy and no flavor, not even a spec of salt to be found. But here is what takes me over the top. At the end of our meal when my spouse had finished his complete meal and mine was untouched we sat with empty pints and 1 finished meal for at least 30 minutes (plenty of time for both of us to order drinks, dessert, another meal! I left hungry!) and it was cleared with no questions. THAT’s UNACCEPTABLE.

The bartender was very informative and nice. We were not drinking and still felt welcomed. She knew all the specials and what they involved. We ordered the lobster bisque and it was really good, a tad sweet though. My friend ordered cheese cake first and they topped it with fresh strawberries. She said it was really good. Then we both got the garlic butter cheese steak. AMAZING!!! I brought half mine home and my fiance said it was really good heated up in the air fryer. I also got garlic butter fries.
