We walked into this Dairy Queen on August 8, 2025, and the doors were still open. The employee immediately told us they stopped serving at 9, even though it was only 3 minutes past. We were fine with that and politely asked if we could still place our order through the drive-thru window since we didn’t have a car nearby, or even pay now at the counter since we were in the store and just pick up at the window. She said she didn’t know and needed to check with the manager, which was a bit odd, but we waited by the door.
When the manager came out, they told us it was "illegal" to serve us that way, and that unless we had a car, it was against the law. This didn’t make sense, especially since we were willing to pay in advance and just pick up at the window. After checking again, there’s no law in PA preventing this. We already knew this and explained it, but they insisted it was breaking the law. So, we said, “Okay, thank you for your time,” and left.
What really bothered us wasn’t just the answer, but the dismissive attitude that came with it. It felt unprofessional and a bit condescending, especially with their overall demeanor. I get that they’re probably just high schoolers who were probably misinformed and just didn’t want to be there, but it still could’ve been handled a lot better.
As a family of three, it’s frustrating because this could’ve been a simple, respectful exchange if they’d just said, "Sorry, it’s our store policy. We can’t serve you this way due to liability reasons," instead of insinuating we were breaking the law and being unreasonable for asking and offering solutions.
I’m not sure if anyone reads these reviews, but I really hope this feedback helps the staff and manager on that shift handle situations like this better in the future, with more professionalism, better training, and clearer communication. And maybe just locking the door when you're done serving to avoid any confusion altogether. Overall experience...
Read moreStopped by to pick up my Easter ice cream cake and some women was giving the girls a hard time because she didn't have her food yet. She had just come in before me and was waiting less than 10 minutes. The girls apologized to her and explained that they had only one fryer working. I told her to be patient as the girls were doing everything they could to get the orders out as fast as they could. She stated she could cook faster than they could. I couldn't help myself but told her to go home and cook instead of being disrespectful to the girls behind the counter. She shut up and sat down until her food was ready which was only 5 minutes later. After I put my cake and food in the car I went back in and told the girls they were doing a great job and that I appreciated them for all they do. I come here all the time because I love the chicken fingers and all the girls who work at this store. Thank you for the good food and have a Happy Easter. Blessed Be,...
Read moreThe service here is honestly so bad, it's amazing to watch. The person ahead of me, and the following four people, all ordered and paid but had to wait 10mins or longer to get their order. One of the orders being solely a fountain drink. I ordered chicken fingers fries and a milkshake. It took over fifteen mins to get the food, and over 20 mins for the milkshake. It wasn't even a busy time, it truly boggled my mind how that happened. It also took every employee to touch/mess with the machine to get it to work. That was perplexing too. The employees have zero clue, and they are rude about their mistakes. The person who ordered just a fountain drink waited more than 5 mins for it, and her mother had to remind the staff about the order, and then they just grabbed a cup and filled it and set it on the counter, saying sorry with an insincere tone. The food and ice cream are absolutely NOT worth it....
