Before I begin, I just want to say that I have ordered from this store multiple times and only had a small problem, once, that was resolved quickly and without hassle. However, this time I ordered and the experience was awful from A to Z. First, I placed the order for delivery as I always do. Nearly an hour went by and I still hadnât received the food, which lead me to call the store for an update since the app did not show any updates as it usually does. The lady who answered told me that the order came through as a pickup on their end. Confusing, but OK because maybe I didnât toggle to delivery as I thought I had. I drove nearly 20 minutes to the store to go get this food and bring it back home only to see that ALL of the sandwiches that were supposed to have turkey bacon and turkey sausage actually have PORK. I called the store to ask first. Initially the same lady as before told me that the sausage and bacon were beef, to which I responded I do not think so. She put me on hold to go ask whoever made the sandwiches then came back and told me that, yes, everything was pork. I asked for a refund because we cannot eat this food. She told me that she cannot give me a refund. When I asked why and told her that I have my email confirmation showing that I ordered all turkey bacon and turkey sausage, she responded by repeating that I cannot have my money back before requesting my phone number to give to the owner who may or may not call me to âexplain everything.â She took my number and hung up on me. I am a repeat customer and I spent over $70 on this order. There is no way I should not be given a refund promptly when clearly they made a mistake. This has made me decide to never buy from here again.
UPDATE
After Manhattan Bagel responded to this review with a request that I contact them via email so they can "make this right", I received an email notifying me that I had been refunded $7.40 (screenshot below). As can be seen in the screenshots I ordered three bagels that were supposed to have turkey bacon and/or turkey sausage. The cook and lady answering the phone yesterday admitted that ALL of them were made with pork instead. Those bagels cost $15.38, $8.48, and $7.99 plus tax, which means I should have received a refund for $31.85 plus tax for them because they had to be thrown away because we could not eat them. I do not understand how they came to the conclusion that a refund of $7.40 was sufficient. I am not satisfied, this is poor customer service, and this review will...
Read moreCame home from this place a minute ago and had to write a review immediately. tl;dr: Quality food, decent prices, good service, great atmosphere.
Ordered 2 sandwiches, a bagel and cream cheese, hot coffee and a frozen cappuccino beverage and a weird item I made up on the spot.
Was served very competently by an employee that admitted she was new to the register system. All the food was perfect, even the random pan greaser I made up - two hash browns sandwiches with bacon, chipotle mayo and cheese in between. Toasted. I call it a pan greaser because of you make it at home, your pan will be greased enough to cook eggs on afterward.
All the food was great and bagels are SOOOOO soft and delicious. You won't have the issue like at Wawa where you have to chew and chew and chew just to get into the bagel. 26 different flavors of bagels, a variety of cream cheeses, and other tasty baked goods.
Service was rapid, even for a weird order, I don't think I was waiting 5 minutes, and I'm certain they had to use the whole kitchen. The total for the order was just under 40$ for 2 people, and that was after 15% tip, a weird menu item and a couple little modifications to ordered items. Asking for a different bagel or protein is met with a smile and precision.
The bathrooms are VERY clean and the style of the entire building is an industrial chic that brings a touch of class to the downtown Penndel area, making it feel a little more like home. Only issues here, parking isn't great, but it never was. I remember when this was a bank back in 2004 and it was a tough spot to get out of. Also, the lighting in the bathrooms is a little dim and the light makes a weird buzzing noise in the men's room.
Overall: I'll be back. Great place, central location surrounded by other businesses with ample parking, great food at a good price, friendly and considerate staff that will do their very best to meet your needs, clean and lovely atmosphere with a fresh and homey feel.
I ordered the smoked brisket breakfast bagel sandwich with a pangreaser on the side, a cold frozen caramel cappuccino with some pumpkin spice flavor mixed in, my lady got a cinnamon raisin bagel with plain cream cheese, hot self-serve coffee, and a BLT.
If these were the issues of every business, there'd be no reason to write reviews. Keep up...
Read moreI was so excited to have one of these in the area. It's in a unique corner with limited parking, but I thought it was gonna be worth it. After my second visit, I came to the conclusion that it's very overpriced, and you're better off going somewhere else. I went out of my way to get here, but I prefer another Bagel/lunch (phenomenal) place that does way better than MB. The menu doesn't reflect what you're actually gonna pay. Yes, ask questions while you're ordering if you really want to try MB. The portions absolutely are nowhere to be found on the bagels. If I wanted a breaded breakfast sandwich with the essence of meat, egg, and cheese, then okay. But that's not the case. I had to skip out on the cream cheese if I really wanted to go for a flavourful explosion. You might as way give me the container if I'm gonna be charged $1.99 for a smear of cream cheese. I know how to make lemonade but this last visit was the lemonade off of M.I.B, I had to locate sugar somewhere else. I did!!! What I ordered per the menu $6.99, plus .99 for ??? hidden charge not found on menu, plus the overpriced $1.99 cream cheese. Total was close to $30 for 2 breakfast sandwiches. If I'm gonna pay this for 2 items, they should come with a drink, courtesy bubbly atmosphere, and a great customer perk card for returnees. Hope this...
