Although the staff were exceptionally friendly, the pizza here does little to break out from the pack of competing pizza joints.
When we arrived at the restaurant on a Friday afternoon, we stepped into what was clearly a community hotspot. Families, couples, and individuals huddled around steaming pies, comfortably laughing and chatting in a way that perfectly matched the relaxed dĂ©cor. While taking our order at the front desk, the waitress had an infectious smile and cheerâa demeanor she, and the other staff, exuded throughout our visit.
We ordered the 18-inch 12th Avenue pizza, which according to their menu is their âultimate special pizza.â After a brief 10-15 minute wait, the pie arrived. The first thing we noticed is how big this pizza is; second, that they sliced it into awkward squares; and third, that it was lava hot (in fact, we both ended up burning our mouthsâthough, that is probably on us). Undoubtedly, many must love the square method of slicing. We did not. The irregular sizes make it harder to keep track of how much food you are eating, and some squares were all interior while others were all crust. While many others must see this differently, we prefer each slice to have both interior and crustâi.e. the "traditional" sliceâfor a more balanced slice. (Note: After I posted this review, the owner clarified that the square method of slicing used on our pizza was an error, and that their default is the "traditional" slice method).
Candidly, the rest of the pizza was rather unremarkable. The cheese was just like cheese I would have at home (for better or worse), the toppings were sparse and somewhat flavorless, and the crust was crunchy and tasty but undeniably generic. There was little tomato sauce, and the pie itself was thin and non-substantive (but we did not get a thin-crust style; rather, it was just an anemic hand-tossed pizza).
For $23, this is not a good value pizza. Although it was still very tasty, I would not recommend spending $23 on this pizza when you can spend half as much for a pizza of similar, or better, qualityâor spend the same amount and get a real show-stopper pizza.
So, while the staff are incredibly nice, you will likely enjoy better pizza at a better...

To wash down this delightful feast, I opted for an ice-cold Dr. Pepper, which complemented the pizza flavors like a match made in foodie heaven. A refreshing drink on a warm day, indeed!
The cozy ambiance inside the pizzeria made the dining experience even more enjoyable. Comfort was the key as I settled in to relish every morsel of the scrumptious meal. And here's the best part â they also offer outdoor seating, allowing you to savor your pizza under the open skies. What a treat!
But what truly set East Hill Pizzeria apart was their outstanding service. The staff was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made me feel like a valued customer. A big shoutout to the team for making my visit so memorable!

Read moreAll the five stars for this place is misleading. Pizza in my opinion is just ok for the price very pricey. I got the hernandez which is a hot bbq chicken type pizza. And dominoes bbq chicken pizza is better by 9 miles. The chicken was cubed and tuff didn't taste roasted. Not enough of the sliced onions and peppers and the bacon was like bacon bits out of the bag. They didn't have what I wanted to start with, they said it was to early in the day and didn't have the ingredients? Like they would appear later or something. No tea for drinking, this is the SOUTH we like sweet tea. So I had to pay for a cup for water, I dropped it and it busted asked for another and they gave me a mouth wash like plastic cup enough for a swallow to put in. So poor service. Place is pretty filthy walls and baseboards, tiles need a deep clean and some fresh paint. Drink machine didn't get cleaned or broke down the night before as we was the first ones there seen in the picture. Based on the cleanliness in the dining room I would hate to see the kitchen. If I'm going to pay top dollar for pizza I want a top dollar masterpiece and a clean place to eat. Which other places in town have both. Hopefully my review will be took as constructive criticism. And issues took care of. UPDATE WOW what a response to only address the...
