Hello Moroe and Eskedar, this is Orvel from Friday night. Together both of you make a great team, but it's her dream. And it shows. And what a wonderful dream. The initial guest greeting sets the tone for a good dining experience, and you made us feel so welcome instantly. When was the last time you and Eskedar went out to a new and unique restaurant and you were immediately turned off by the initial impression? That certainly was not the case at your restaurant. You both put us at ease and eager to share yourselves AND your outstanding food. When the actual Chef comes to your table, and proudly guides you through the what and how and flavors, etc....that initial personal interaction is some powerful medicine. We were blown away in the first 10 minutes. THEN the food arrives, and the aromas, taste buds, and visual presentation sensors were off the chart. The food surpasses the already outstanding first impressions.
Thank you for making our rare eating out restaurant meal so memorable. Shelby and myself have health issues that are made better by cooking and eating select foods at home. Your restaurant will see us again. Soon. It's that special.

Read moreI recently had a craving for Ethiopian food and discovered Ethiopian Cuisine by Friends, the only place in Pensacola serving authentic Ethiopian dishes. After confirming their hours over the phone, I visited on a Saturday between 4 PM and 8:30 PM. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the owners, Mr. Monroe and Mrs. Eskedar Monroe, both of whom greeted me with big smiles.
The restaurant is a spacious, shared kitchen with a well-designed menu offering a variety of food options. I decided to try the lamb tibs, accompanied by Gomen and shiro on the side. The food was delicious, and I also enjoyed a unique drink prepared by Mr. Monroe, though I can't recall its name.
The Monroes were exceptionally kind and took the time to engage with their customers, explaining the menu options and sharing their vision of opening a fully functioning restaurant—a place for the community to connect. I was also intrigued to learn that Mr. Monroe serves in the Navy.
I recommend Ethiopian Cuisine by Friends if you're in Pensacola and looking for a good Ethiopian...
Read moreI came for a week to Pensacola and located the Eth Cuisine by Frienda on Google. I called to the number and got a swift response from Eskedar (owner). She was so generous enough to give me options for the day and time the restaurant will be open marching to my short stay. The food was authentic (trust my words as I am Ethiopian who ate this food for the past four decades :) ), well presented with amazing hospitality, clean kitchen and cosy spot within a mall (adequate parking space). More to that, the price was so reasonable, wrapped with genuine servant-owner and a beautiful smile. I and my daugther felt at home away from home. You won't be disappointed at all, it's a got to...
